Default What Starter for Large Cube and High compression?

What starter are you use with large cube and high compression engine.
I have a 44oci and 14 to 1 compression.
Will the stock starter work or would I be better off with Powermaster or TCI?

We use the stock starter with a 16 volt battery. Powermaster would be a good choice for aftermarket.

I think the main thing would be to make sure you have very good and clean connections, also I like to use dielectric grease on everything elec. related.

Make sure your battery is big enough and is always fullt charged, even on stock motors I beleive that a well maintained battery will improve power output as well, by alowwing the alt. to work less during re-charge after a start. If my car ever sits more then a week, I will put it on a battery tender. I have got more then 6 years out of a atv battery this way. When batteries go dead, thats when they lose most of life and power.

Let us know what the car runs when its up and running.

I have a powermaster on my car, it cranks it over a 13.5 to 1 402 with no problems, with a 12 volt battery.

You use a 16 volt battery and the sky's the limit, you can pretty much start anything.

I've used a stock starter with more compression then this with no issues.
Good battery cables and connections are always very important!

For what it's worth:
Static compression isn't the concern.
Dynamic compression and monster valve springs for a solid roller application are of more concern.

Ditto. I used a powermaster on my last set up, 13.5-1 compression 427 with a .700" solid roller.
