Default 2.5 narrowed rear, what wheels with no mini-tub?

right now i had 15x8.5 w/ 5" B.S. but when i put them on they sat too far inward so i sold um. Looking into what size to get. I want a 15x10 rim but not too sure on backspacing. My 5" b.s. rim with my 28x10.5 et drag hit the wheel well just a tad with minimal hammering. So i found a set of alumastars that are 15x10 with 4" b.s., assuming these would be perfect knowing it would push the inner lip of the rim out that one more inch i need and ill be on a 10in wide rim? What are you guys running rim size with no mini-tub and 2.5in off each side? Pics too for something too look at would be sweet

Centerline Convo Pros in 15x10 size would be absolutely perfect for you.

They clear LS1 calipers without any grinding or spacers, they come in a 5'' backspace (which would fit just like stock on a 2.5'' narrowed rear), and they're pretty damn cheap too.

A 4'' backspace will be equal to a 6.5'' backspace on a stock rear, they'll stick out an inch.

I run 15x10s with 7.5'' BS and I actually wish they tucked in another inch or so. I definitely wouldn't want it sticking out an extra inch, but it's your car.

To get the stock fit with a 2.5'' narrowed rear you'll want a 5'' BS with a 10'' wheel. Less backspacing will make it stick out and more backspacing will tuck it in.

Without minitubs you really don't have much room at all to tuck it in more. My 275/65/15 drag radials have a half inch or less of clearance to the inner wheel wells.

Like mentioned, 2.5" narrowed on each side with a 15x10" wheel needs a 5" BS. I have 3" narrowed per side and run a 4.5" BS and fits perfect. Plan on cutting the bump stop and BFH where needed.

I also plan on getting my rear end narrowed 3 inches, ad plan to run a champion wheel 15 x 10 with a 4.5 Bs.. This is also what eric @ mwc suggested to me.

I don't see how u guys are clearing 5/5.5 b.s.? I had a 5" b.s. and with a 1/4in spacer behind them they still rubbed and I have all that stuff cut out and BFH a lot in there. That's why I'm thinking a 4" b.s. will bump it out that extra 1" and ill clear just fine. But if I do a 15x10 4" b.s. will my car look like a vato ride? Lol

15x10 with 7.5'' BS is what gives you stock fit.

Take 7.5'' and subtract 2.5'' for your narrowed rear, that makes your stock fit BS for a 15x10 wheel 5'' for your car.

When you had a 5'' BS wheel that rubbed before with a 1/4'' spacer on it, was that a 10'' wheel or an 8'' wheel? Did it only rub one side? If that was a 10'' wheel and it rubbed both sides then something isn't right.

Ok, when u put it in that perspective I get it now. When it rubed it was with my 15x8.5 w/5" b.s. convo pros in my sig pic. Its just tempting that the Alumastars are $400 for a new set that I can get this Saturday but there 15x10 w/ 4" b.s. that's why I'm askin so much, lol. Or Eric@MWC has a pair of streetlites that are 15x10 w/ 4.5 b.s. for a little more so I'm on the fence right now.

You're still considering buying wheels with the wrong BS because they are good deal? You going to narrow the rear more? Just asking...

I wouldn't pick either of those rims for your setup. If you want i'll let you mock up my 15x10's 5.5 backspace and i also have some spacers so you can mess with to see what backspace you want. Pm me if your interested.

Hey how tall are those tires and where did you get em? I cant find any.. My rear is narrowed 3' /side and my MT ET streets that were 28" tall and 12.5 " wide rubbed. I do not have minitubs. I want a 27" tall radial that hooks up good for the street and track. I do have a 6 speed.

Hoosier says they are 27.7" tall but they are closer to 28"(if that matters) . I got them from a local speedshop here in S.C.(CPR Performance). They had a couple of sets so I figured I'd give them a try (although I've good luck with the Mickey Thompsons.) NO rubbing at all(Hoosiers or MT's).
