Building a race car? Document it here!
FUEL, man u got some great pics!! The car looks awsome...... prostock scoop......wheels up..... chute out.... damn nice!! Car looks good off the line, how did it preform over the weekend? Looks like you would have got some good data for the day.
the weekend was a little rough.we had a problem with the wide open throttle switch and wasted like 5 runs before we figured it out.the car went 8.10 at 169,with the second kit coming on late.the car should go 7.80s.

no my piece of chit valve covers are leaking.there being fixed now.and im also pulling vac from the valley cover and it tends to fill the catch can.but im putting a baffle in that now too.these things should fix the oiling issue.
You will need a pretty good baffle to stop the oil from the valley cover... there's a baffeled fitting you can get but I'll be damned if I can find it now.
Valve cover leaks suck, I fought that forever on my last motor, damn things never sealed right.

Damn FUEL...... that motor sounds super strong!! Pesky oil leaks and such, make a absolute mess of everything! I hope that you get it all sorted.
Not much to update here, made some progress with the new midplate structure, but I wiped a fragment of metal into my eye and have been wearing a patch over my eye for the last two days, got it off now though.... but still hurts like hell. Good thing I was wearing safety glasses just should have gone to the quack earlier to help with the repair. Damn vision is up the **** with only one friggin eye!
I will get some pics up of the progress with the midplate, I also spoke with chuck about my diff. Getting ready to pull the trigger on it just waiting on a package price. He is one great guy man, he has come up with a great setup, just now got to get it sorted!!
Anyway catch ya.

Hey guys, diff is all organised and will be finished in three weeks! Got in just in time to get my 10% discount for the tax sale..... man it will be sick. Went the Burkhart housing with single swaybar, wheelie bar mounts, and tiedowns, powdercoated black, afco doubles to go in stock shock location, moser 40 spline gun drilled axles, strange brakes to match the fronts, and 411 progears with a spool. Should have it all covered!!
Got my new correct height Dzus springs from Kyle at RACECRAFT, damn there good guys. They had me covered and sent me the extras at no cost!! started mounting them yesterday. I also got slightly longer Dzus's incase I was going to use the oversized springs. I had to change out the springs, but I have so far used the oversized fastners aswell and it seemed to eliminate the need to decrease the thickness of the hood. I will finish it up soon and let you guys know!!
Over the last couple of days I have been replacing the boot floor as I cut a few pounds out the back, removed the t- top well, and the lower skirt behind the bumper. Got a few new plans with the rear, where it will get another couple of hoops. I will get some pics up soon, just got to get a new battery for my camera!!
Catch ya.

Hey guys, finished up my racecraft fender rails last night. Still got the front 4 to put in, but I used the slightly taller Dzus's in the end. Had to trim the hood zero, and they snug down very nice. I would recomend them optioned with the VFN sunnaco hood if you wish not to trim the already thin hood.
Nearly the easter long weekend here, so I will have some time to get some things finished up! Anyway catch ya.

Ok guys got the camera working again, T top well cutout and lower wheel wells

Drivers side all pieced back in and ready for a new aluminium panel to cover it in

Penotration on the skirt to hold the pannel

Bonnet all mounted to the rails, started the bumper rails.

This little spot down here is where im going to add two new DZUS tabs to hold the
center of the hood.

Thanks man! Ordering my diff gave me a good kick in the butt... to get the rear fabrication done before the diff gets here. Didnt progress any further with it yesterday, I wanted to finish up mounting the hood. Its all mounted with the RACECRAFT rails and is finished in that respect, and lines up real nice too!! I even gave it all a wipe down and took the packing tape residue off the hood from transport!!

Since I had the front bar back off, I decided to tidy up a few odd jobs with it.... like cutting the front bar back and lightening the old bonnet latch support, and mounting my billet grille here is what I have done.

Now the front end is nealy all done, it was time to try finish it. So I cut the dog ears back, which I havent mounted back up yet and put in two extra DZUS mounts.

Almost done now, just got to remount the hood and drill the DZUS hole.

That was my day guys, hope that you all got something done. Catch ya.

Hey guys, Happy Easter! Nothin really to update, I didnt touch the car yesterday. I spent the day chassing fuel leaks in the wagon. Fixed the weaping supply then the return was leaking but showing no fuel pressure???? It is real close to starting now, I just got to get the fuel pressure up, It appears that there is some small debris in the fuel clogging the reg, so got to flush it again and hope that it stays up and we'll see if we can start it.
Anyway catch ya.

Hey Dennis, glad to hear you get a break! Your right mounting the hood is a pain although done now, apart from the dog ears that I cut off. I hope you make some head way on your fuel system, not to bad a job!
My fuel system and car gave me grief for the past three days, I now no what needs to be changed on the fuel system...... but the cause of no spark is a pain. Being efi there is like four avenues to explore, I think I might get an expert to look at it. It will be so simple I know, but I sick of pulling things out. I got a good bit of the car apart again!
Anyway, catch ya.

You guys are all making some good progress on your cars! I'm not going to clutter this thread up with my junk but I did finally update my rebuild thread, feel free to take a look, comment away.
I don't think the floor structure is tucked up enough though
Take a look and be the judge. I've yet to see one done this tight
