We had a competitive true street car and wanted to go up a class and run with the cars running 5.0s and it cost another 50 grand to go from 5.5s to 5.0s. 2 years later we still have not made a pass down the track. BS3 was bad and we were unable to find the problem. Of which time we blew the heads off of it several times because of the bs3.

We have a speggetti menders on the car to make wiring a cinch.
Just a word of advise. You will be fabricating tons of stuff. Buy everything you can already built. It will make your life so much easier. It cost a little more to do it that way but if you don't, you will end up making some half *** stuff and it will take forever to get all finished.

This is my 4-5 build and I learn so much each and every time. Also, go to big races (out of state possibly) to watch. Go through the pits and just look at all the F-bodies. You willl get tons of really good ideas.

Didn't get as much done this weekend as I wanted to but still got the seat installed and some wiring cut out. With the time change I should be able to work on the car after work and get the rest of the wiring out, leaving only the connectors I need.

The seat sits lower than the stock one but should leave a lot more room for my helmet, I was always smacking it against the t-tops before. It will be harder to see the nose of the car but I don't think it will cause too many problems.

Here are some pictures of the seat and bracket installed.

Got the rest of the wiring and the gas tank pulled this weekend. Just need to get in touch with NRC to see when I can bring the car down for the cage.

Bob and Jay... those guys are the ****. Those guys get stuff done faster then ANYONE, and the quality, is nothing short of amazing.

You're a very lucky man to have them local enough to you. Hell I still may use them myself, and they're over 1000 miles away.

But, I know I can drop my car there, and in 2 to 3 weeks it's totally done with a back 1/2 and a 25.3 spec chassis, hood mounted, dash mounted, all the tin work done, etc.etc.

I don't know of anyone else that can get stuff done like they do. You put a car in their shop, and it's DONE FAST, and DONE RIGHT.

It was only a 3 hour drive but it was well worth it. I can't wait to see the finished product.

3 hours, hell if I bring my car down, it's gonna be more like 14. And, I'm welcome to do it... to get that level of craftsmanship in the timeframe they can do it in, to me it's a no-brainer.

The two bars from the main hoop to the floor. I thought that they had to go to the tunnel, but I may be wrong. Car looks great though!

Those bars don't have to go to the tunnel. The current 8.50 cage in my car they went to a set of plates that were welded on right where the rear seat brackets usually are.

Myth = debunked!

“For rear-wheel-drive cars, with neither a frame nor subframe connectors, but with complete OEM floor (from the firewall to the rear of the trunk; exception: the rear inner wheel wells may be tubbed with steel or aluminum), the 1 1/4- inch x .058-inch CM (or .118-inch MS) “D” bars may be welded to conventional 6-inch x 6-inch x 1/8-inch form fitted/contoured plates attached to the driveshaft tunnel. Otherwise, the “D” bars must be attached to frame, subframe, or subframe connectors.”

Bob explained it to me but I can't remember exactly what he said. They have built a bunch of these cars and never had a problem getting them certified.
