Default 28x9x15 vs 29.5x10.5x15 slicks

so im having problem hooking up with my MT 28x9 slicks...
i can get a good deal for some 29.5x 10.5...
how much MPH will i lose with the 29inch tire?
im currently passing the 1/4 mile at 6300rpm at 130mph with the 28s...stock 3.46 gearing...will i be going the wrong direction?

You shouldn't need a 29.5x10 to hook with what you're running. Looks like you need to look at your suspension to me.

My 28x10.5s took my car to a 1.32 60ft on the rear tires with a 4:33 gear. BTW, wrong section

28x10.5 is what you need... depending on weight and power you should use a stiffwall for better sidewall life and better R/T.

I don't think the 29.5 will fit in a gto without some serious clerancing....

28x10.5 If you can't hook on that then you have suspension problems. And gear wise, you probably would be better served with a 3.73 or 3.90 gear.

with the 28s it still has plenty of room, since i have drag bags to lift the *** up...
if i go with 3.73 gears i will be at the limiter at the end of the track...

29.5 tire will grow a whole bunch compared to a 28. your 28x9s are only a 27" tire btw...

If you are lifting the back of the car up with air bags, that's probably 1/2 the reason the thing won't work on the tires you have. You never want to lift the back of the car up. Only thing that is accomplishing is jacking the weight all onto the nose...
