Default Haha...so I started working on my Pit Vehicle

Since I'm down for a while...figured I might as well do some work to my other race-related vehicle (my EZGO golf cart)

Plan is to paint the body to match the car (carbon fiber metallic)
Change out the driven CVT clutch for more low end (its like adding 4.88 gears in a traditional rear)
figure out how to put a turbo on it (only halfway serious about this )

Already has upgraded hubcaps
rear seat
front and rear light kit
horn
towing hitch

before the surgery...

little bit of weight reduction...I think 4-5 golf tees and a divot remover fell out when I was disassembling

needs a heavy cleaning and some sanding then they are ready for paint

Turbo it...there are tiny turbo's out there! One of my friends back home put a turbo on his Kubota UTV, that turbo has an outlet the size of a silver dollar at most.

EZ-GO's are good carts. Can't wait to see the results.

If ya ever really want to add some spunk to that cart.. there is an 18hp twin cyl motor setup available. Not cheap like everything else... but if the motor ever dies... it would be worth while.

Should be nice when it's done. And certainly a low buck stress reliever with what's happened as of lately

Found a bug in BS3 that caused it to drop alot of fuel and add alot of timing at 14psi
New high dollar RHS 427 went boom on first pass as a result
Its back at Va speed getting fixed

Is BS3 kicking in any money since it's their software that had the bug? Or is it one of those pay to play kind of things...

they'd never take ownership of it. reason I found the bug is that one of the load values in the load vs axis table changed for unknown reasons leaving two rows with the same value. I can't replicate this problem, but there's no way to prove that it changed itself vs. me changing it (even though I never went into that table). when the MAP hit that exact value, I found the dangerous bug where it defaulted to a very low MAP value (vacuum region)...hence why it added timing and pulled fuel. basically, map read boost and BS3 interpreted as vacuum due to that value issue. This is a dangerous quirk that needs to be fixed in the code.

my fix is easy...make sure that table is correct upon every save, upload, download, sneeze, whatever.

That fukin sucks! I just don't know about Big Stuff's engine management systems anymore. With your problem happening and the ordeal that 98z28cobrakiller went thru went them it makes the Holley Dominator EFI setup look better and better.

So your 11 sec gold cart will pull your 7 sec race car to the pits? I like it

clutch mods are done

replaced factory 36deg rear clutch with a 28deg clutch...keeps it in "low" gear longer
replaced spring in front clutch with heavier spring (lets engine rev a bit more before engaging)
installed an "idle" kit. allows the cart to start by key vs only starting and running when there is some travel in the gas pedal.

body is sanded and primed...should be put in color today

Nice, I am disturbingly more excited to see this cart painted than most cars.

I know what you are going through. Sorry to hear that. Not many industries/companies can produce a product and have zero accountability if its screwed up. Makes you wonder why we do this. Good luck gettting it back together.
