Default Trap speeds/rpm? 456's+6 speed+28" DR=?????

I recently took my car to the track. It is just a bolt on car with fast 90/90, kooks 1 3/4" headers and a dump also mods in sig. It had a 26" et street on the car and was bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th though the traps. This was my first time ever running a manual car at the track so my 60's were horrible. Best 60' was a 1.97. My best trap speed was 110 but on the second run I threw 5th and lost 2-3 mph because it was right at the end of the track. I bought new rear rims and new drag radials 275/60/15 28" for that reason. I was curious what my trap speed would be and at what rpm. Then I was also curious how a 100 shot would be when added to the equation. I'm sure I will have to throw 5th which is no prob for me, but with the spary how fast will I get into 5th?

i would not spray in 5th gear, you're asking for trans failure.

I would definitely not spray in 5th gear. That is asking for transmission distruction. A 4.56 gear and 28" tire should run 132mph @ 7200rpm. What is your rev limiter set at?

Go to the rear end section, FAQ and there is a gear calculator. Very useful and accurate compared to a stalled auto, for the most part.

Edit: Found it, its kinda Buried.

http://www.f-body.org/gears/

Jeremy already did the calculation, and IF you get a bias ply (which for a M6, you should) you could get an extra 1" of tire growth at speed which can give you a little more.

I really wasn't looking I'm going to say 6700 hundred. I have the stock rev limiter in the car I think.

What gear is that in? And I wanted to keep the revs down because I read higher rpms is what kills the rod bolts. I highly daught I will trap anywhere near 120 on a hundo shot so if that's in 4th gear I will be fine. I problly only have 320 wheel or very close

he did that calculation w/ 4.56s and a 28" tire go to www.f-body.org/gears

the reason you were hitting limiter in 4th gear is because you have the wrong gear/tire combo

you dont use a 26" tire w/ 4.56s hence bouncing off limiter....

also stock limiter is at 6200, you need to do some researching the gears and tires are too much for your mod list

i am on a 26" tire and 4.10s and cross the traps @ 6700 at 127.x mph

Yeah, the 26's hurt ya bad. Waay too much gear with those. I run 28's, with 4.56's and I cross at ~7400 rpm..... Were you at E-town on wed? Track was terribly prepped anyway...

Yea I was at e town, the track was bad because people kept dropping fluid. I may try to go to the lsx shoot out or wait for the Atco rental. I have to dial in the suspension . The spray should be on this coming week just a 100 shot.
