thinkin of droppin weight
For those of you who bought your car new or almost new, do you regret turning it into a drag car? Im really torn on it. but it wouldnt be practical to try and sell and restart.
I have a non damaged OEM SS hood im thinking about pulling off the car. maybe a few small chips, but otherwise perfect
I also have the Ebony Leather seats out of the car. No rips or stains in them, Driver side power, pass and rear seats.
6-speed console, basically perfect.
Also the Factory HVAC system, everthing that came off the car would be sold.
What are the going prices for the Items? like to get an idea before i commit to guttin the car. Ive ran a few searches but most of the threads were 3+yrs old.
Thanks for any help
You can run really good times with a 3300# car.. A 3100# car wontbe much faster at all.. although one Is close to a full weight street car, and the other has no ac no radio, etc etc..
Negative In my book, track only car.. Sure.
Fwiw last trans am weighed 30xx#.. This one weighs 34xx#.
1995 Porsche 928 GTS ($1500 in gorgeous condition - engine junk)
1999 BMW M3 ($4000 - engine ran rough, interior disgusting)
2004 Mustang Cobra with supercharger ($6000, ran fine, interior loaded with mud)
...and so on. The point is: You don't need to sacrifice the drive quality of your daily driver unless you really want to.
Having personally witness a transformation or two, you really notice how little is left of the original car and to a point you really could have done it with a 6'er.
So I would think long and hard before putting it under the knife.
Or whatever you do take out is reversible, meaning you do not sell parts and keep them.
I wouldnt worry to much as long as you keep the weight reduction nice and neat. Keep 2 seats in it but not plain uncovered kirkys. Keep the radio.
