Default how many guys run a 26 tire up front and 28s

on the back?

does it hinder performance at all?

I know you can shallow stage more but what is the overall gain in this?

R u still running a speedometer with this setup?

Especially for the guys who are running a th400 setup and using the front abs sensor for speedometer!

thanks

No downside that I can think of, I used a Vss sensor on my 400 and still use the stock speedo

26 front and 28 rear. My rossler TH400 has a VSS sensor in it. Just had to get an older style GM VSS connector.

The 28s will be faster but I think they look too big. You may also have trouble hitting the tree depending on your setup. 26s are pretty much the standard front tire size.

40 tooth reluctor and sensor.

Install reluctor in place of mechanical speedometer drive gear and sensor in place of driven gear/housing.

Cut off factory VSS plug and instal new pigtail (polarity doesn't matter).

If your car was originally equipped with a 4L60E no tuning will be necessary (except for rear gear changes and tire size changes). If your car was originally a 6-speed car then the PCM will need to be calibrated for the difference in VSS reluctor wheel tooth counts (17 teeth for manual vs. 40 teeth for auto).

I switched from a 26" to a standard 165/80/15 due to tire clearance (looks). Still running a 28" and I believe my 60" stayed the same @ 1.61. If it changed it may be off by .01.

I am running 26 fronts with a 28 rear. I think 28 fronts look funny.

BFH, cut a pie cut about 10" long tapering to 2.5" wide on the bumper cover, glue back together, hoosier slicks. My 9" is narrowed 4" per side, total of 8"

Only issue I have with this combination is the nose scrapes on my driveway. You should disable ABS too due to different sizes.

Did you have to do anything up front to clear the 27" Front Tires?
