Question Factual 60ft numbers once sway bars were removed?

Anyone have factual numbers on 60ft improvements once u removed ur sway bars? Stockish cars are what I'm looking for, but any car with true numbers is ok.

I have a 98, a4 car, and I'm pulling a little wieght, and the sway bars. Stock converter, on a drag radial. Kinda curious to see what my 60 may look like. Car is stock other then free mods, lid, and a smooth bellow.

I removed my a/c stuff, bumper supports, and washer bottle for now. The car was 3620 at full wieght, w/me in it, and a 1/4 tank of gas.

Thanks,
Dale

Its ok to remove the front sway bar for weight reduction. But you need the rear sway bar because it helps the car to go straight once you launch the car....the more power you have....the bigger the sway needs to be. You need to get most of the weight off of the front end to help the car rise on the launch!

I'm not sure you'll gain anything more than what its worth in weight.

I'm sure stock converter and drag radials is nothing but a bog fest. I know mine was.

I haven't done any track testing, but it leaves clean on the street.

dont remove the rear.

one day I went and left the front on and went 1.42 and took it off the next pass for a 1.36 but then the next went 1.5. SPun out the hole because it gained weight transfer.

I removed my front sway bar simply because it made a big difference in how much and how quickly the front end lifted. The weight loss is just a bonus.

I would say if you are not trying to solve a traction problem, then you will only gain the weight difference.

And for your actual question. I have never ran with the front sway bar on the car. So I have no comparison numbers.

Front end is Definately lighter. I'm removing the bumper supports next.

I really believe removing my front swaybar made a difference in the way weight transfers to the rear at launch. 15lbs off the nose helps to.
My car poped the front left tire with a 1.666 60' 11.9 stock internal 3400-3450 race weight. Suspension was/is totally stock.

I cant stand driving it on the street without it though. Others might not care but I can tell theres a huge difference in my cars handling. Swaybar delete is just a track mod for me.

I didn't notice much of a difference in handling, but I'm not much for cornering, etc. Car is a track fun car anyway.

Right now, the car is disgustingly stock, and still transfers awesome. Can't wait to make some power and try it.

Not so much the weight, but the friction of the bar in the bushings.

My car has hit 1.58s with the stock sway bar on. I took it off and hated the way the car felt on ramps. Put a V6 bar to lose weight and get handling back. Used a Strano rear bar which is thicker but lighter than the stocker on the rear.

more the increased articulation and transferring the energy that wouldve gone through the bar to the rear tires.

Actual numbers. I used to 60 in the 1.7s with front still attached. Pulled it off and consistently go in the low to mid 1.5s pulling tire. Best of 1.52. Went from 11.5s - 11.6s to 10.90s
