That's the one I was looking for Tim.
Brian Black car.
Saw it at Bowling Green.
I was just wandering if Joe still made that type of hood. I talk to Joe acouple of days ago and the said that he makes a 4" sloped hood now. I asked him about Brian hood and he couldn't recall. He said sometime ago he made a taller version of a hood, but it was for strecthed frontends.
This is the type hood I want, on Brian car.
I guess I need to send Joe a picture of this hood. But he said he doesn't get on the computer anymore.

I bought one from Joe earlier this year. He is a good guy. A little unique...but he still makes them. I don't think he cares if he sells them. Stays busy doing other stuff.

They come oversize by a bunch, be prepared to spend some time fitting.

I think that VFN hood looks like crap on these cars. JMO.

Tim, I like the way you did the (wings, ears) at the cowl. The hood fits great.
How far does the hood come up at the windshield. And how far off the windshield is the hood. It doesn't touch the windshield does it.
I'd like to see some pics, from the side of the hood at the windshield. I guess what I'm trying to say, is this hood more of a cowl induction hood. I'm trying to get as much air to my 4150 tb as I can. One more question, what dzus rail kit is that.
Thanks again.

Not sure I am going to keep with the wings, but they were a better idea than the wings that were part of the hood (very flimsy) and just awkward. Couldn't see them lasting, or not getting damaged when the hood was off.

A Lexan front glass would allow the body of the car in this area to be covered to where the wings are not necessary (similar to Brian Black's car)

Currently I have mine fitted to meet the windhshield. Not the best solution for a NA car, but I like the looks of it. This is the same hood as the pic of Brian Black's car I posted, although his I believe is carbon fiber. As far as I know this is the only style hood Joe Van O makes for these - two in glass and one in CF.

The Dzus rails are hand made, not a kit.

Hey Brian,
Does your hood touch the windshield. I thought I recall that it set acouple of inches back off.
Thanks

Brian, you coming to the Fall Brawl. Holly Springs, Miss. Oct 19-21?

Mine is close to the windshield but does not touch. Maybe set 1/2" to 1" off or so.

No on the Fall brawl.. I'd like to attend but I have the Midwest Chassis Track rental here local that weekend and I will be testing in preparation for a big 275 race in Sikeston, MO on the 27th.

Anyone know how to get ahold of Joe Van O? Is he still producing the T/A hoods in Carbon Fiber?
