Default WHY, Alternators??!!!

RANT ALERT!!

Not bashing anyone who is doing this, and I am NOT saying your incompetent in your build.

Here's my problem,
I have noticed, on friends builds, big horsepower builds, track cars, alternators, WHY?!? why rob power?!?

If your car is not a DD and you got it sitting on a trailer, why the alternator, take that piece of crap off!!
Geesh i see guys with huge turbos high dollar engines and its supposed to be a race car, its got race car parts all over it! Take off the alternator please. Mount a good battery and invest in charger.

Ps. If its a true wanna be track car, please delete the AC as well.
While your at it...why the heck is your power steering pump still apart of your combo? Switch to a manual set up. That is all.
50k$ in racing parts and your running a damn autozone alternator!

I get what your saying but some people like to do more with their car than just run it at the track.

I do it simply to watch people like you rant. Here is a picture to help you vent even more.

Doesn't it have something to do with keeping a stronger voltage to the PCM while the car is running?

Maybe.
But I'm a track guy.
I have a couple track cars. If your building a track/racecar, its unnecessary weight, parts, and robbing power, not to mention belt problems.

What kind of car do you have?
Does it have a PCM on it?

Because my car goes faster with the alternator than without. I used the money that I saved on a generator and battery charger to add 50 more horsepower just to drive the alternator.

These days, everyones "race cars" are self claimed "street cars" so I guess alternators help with the movement.

This must be one of the dumbest threads I have seen in a while. Do you pull the center caps out of your stock wheels for weight reduction too?

First off, there are no belt problems if everything is lined up properly.

Second, Running an alternator gives added voltage and a constant power supply so you dont have to bring along some jailhouse flunkie to RUUUUUNNNN all the way to the pits to grab a spare battery and jumper cables to kick start your piece of **** car cause you were too busy staring at some 19 year olds MEGAJUGZ and you forgot to hook your car to the charger cause you were suddenly in the portapotty jacking your dick to the memory of her mammaries.

Third, It is just SMARTER. More power that actually has a very small effect on your times.

Now, go out back of your shed and argue with a tree because not everybody here has a $300k budget and wants to throw money away on buying a generator and megajuice battery charger.

I hooked up the alternator on my S-10 today and went from 12.2 volts to 14.5 volts. HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!! Ran smoother, and started easier next time around...

Have a nice day. I will take faster ET's for a mere 10 pounds of added weight anyday....

Sorry, if I irritated you jerks. If any of u read my post, that was not my point. I can understand the efi aspect. Again, I was talking about all out racecars. When any of you fools want some, ill be at the track, alternator-less. Lmao.
Geesh I'm sorry I rustled some feathers, I out this cause I'm.helping a freind with his build, and he's got so much going on, he don't need the alt.
Anyways any of u nay sayers and bigots want some, ill be at the track. **** any one of u up.lol
You started it. Damn tthis went well.for.my first post in this section.

I'm not saying alternators are a bad thing , just on a racecar build, think otherwise, especially if your a track car. (A real track car)
