Default '93-'97 V6 Rear Springs

Is this mod worth doing?
Drag Radial Car.
Stock WS6 shocks and springs still on car.

Winter project will be suspension.
Looking now at getting the new Viking Front Coilovers w/250 or 275 Springs and maybe some Comp Engineering 3- Way Adjustable Drag Shocks and
V6 Springs for the rear.

Softer rear springs will make it hook harder. Very easy to change. Measure the wire they are wound from. I know '89 V6 springs are smaller wire.
Just want enough spring (both ends) to hold the car up.

Yes I have seen it work great on cars with stock suspension(meaning stock springs/shocks).

Be careful with those coil overs if your car is a DD. It will kill the ride

93-97 V6 rear springs were popular until adjustable shocks came out. Some folks also used to like them for the street.

But in my old experience, they are best left for a street raced car or not worth it, one of my cars squatted way too much, which to me is wasted energy.

John, you might want to explain your squatting threory to the top chassis shops in the US. :-)

Go to an NHRA national event and stand near the starting line for a while.

Squatting is not the springs anyway.

Anyone know if you can see any difference in the V6 springs and V8 springs
just by looking at the both of them?
Are the V6 smaller in diameter, are they wound different, ect.

Wound from smaller wire. A local Camaro Firebird salvage has them in a big crate, tied together in pairs & labeled. I used a set of '88 or '90 V6 Camaro springs. Took my dial calipers with me to measure them. The '85/'90 springs are wound from smaller wire. Dropped right in. Rode better too.

I've got WS6 springs now, don't know if their stiffer than the regular V8 springs,
but anything would be better for drag racing than these WS6, I would think.
I DO NOT drive this car on the street. Race car 100%.

I have never measured WS6 springs, but if I was guessing I would guess they are stiffer than standard V8 springs.

If you dont want to spend on aftermarket ones run the V6s. Not a bad upgrade.

Ed hehe I know you know more about drag racing than me.... but with the v6 springs my car went straight up and then forward....

V8 springs 1999:

I'm going to get the Viking Coilovers for the front, from you, but I'm going to cheap out on the *** end for now.

I have sold suspension parts across the country, and do some work for local NHRA class cars, but we primarily focus business on the heads-up and street market which is much bigger. My customers are much more like 6 and 7 second 1/4 mile cars, all on stock suspension, with small tires I, myself, race Top Sportsman

Must be a bunch of those things (I have never seen one). Had 91 SS cars entered at Las Vegas last race, probably that many there this weekend for the Lucus points race.
Starting today. Only 65 SS cars qualified there so far. Probably more will show up tomorrow.

Careful what V6 springs you get the later ones were the same as the V8's.
