Default Super Vic With 4150 and Sunoco hood

Anyone have a super Victor with a 4150 running a Sunoco style hood?
Wondering if I'm going to have any clearance issues?

I had plenty of room with a supervic and 4150

Also plenty of room with the Vic Jr (L92), Mast LS3 Med bore heads,3/4" plate and 4150

Not enough room with the Mozez and Mast intake with a 1" plate and Dominator

DO NOT - DO NOT use feather carbon.

VFN has a 6-1/2" sunoco hood too.

Gotta get the hood that extends to the windshield, otherwise the 4150 will be sitting out in the open, not covered by the hood.

How do you get air to it with that hood?

No more restrictive than your stock hood.

I'm not going to run an elbow or anything on the 4150.

Getting air to the 4150's or 4500's without an elbow is a pita in Fbodies especially a camaro due to the hood geometry. You could...

1. Let the hot underhood air go inside your intake. (Not the best performing idea)

2. Notch the back of the hood where the intake is. There are a few threads about the notching. Square or half oval/circle.

Adding an air pan helps a lot as well. That way the car is forced to breath via cowl induction.

I cut a hole in my VFN extended 61/2 inch hood and put a K&N velocity stack with a 6 inch filter on it. I also have the super victor on my LS. Looks old school with new a school attitude. Lol Otherwise you will be pulling air from the front. That means radiator, and engine heat. Not good.

What's wrong with it setting out in the open?
I'm trying to figure out what to do about my 4150.
Right now I have the whole cowl cut out with a stock
Firebird hood. Half of the 4150 sets under the hood and half
in the open.
I need options also.

Hey I'm sorry I can't figure out the pic thing. I was told that you did not want the top in the open but it didn't make any sense to me either. If you look at the old Hillborn Injection , they all have little velocity stacks on them, and they are open. Its supposed to be something about the air going across the top of the carb at high speed disrupts the air flow. So I got the velocity stack with the K&N filter. But when I try It out I'm going to try it both ways. With and without the filter.

Thanks for the pics.
That stack will probably work with a carb, but not sure with a tb.
Anyone ever done one with a tb?

I ordered the extended Sunoco. I'm thinking I'm going to trim it back
Away from the windshield some to get air in.
Anyone done this and have pics?
