This Is probably stupid to ask but would these seats be bearable for up to a two hour drive? Im not expecting lazyboy comfort but looking into all options for seats for my car since the seat covers I like are $850. Would rather go a different route right now bc my car has white seats and would rather wait until down thr road to redo them, looking for a light weight option.

 

i love mine, i could drive in them for hours. longest ive driven was about an hour and i was comfortable the whole time

Good to here, I never really considered them until I seen in studderins thread were he had them amd said they were, juss wanted to get some more opinions. Are there direct bolt it rails or do they bolt to the existing rails, haven't looked into it yet?

 

More comfortable than my stock T/A seats ever dreamed they could be.

 

Very comforable, though the wings will tire your legs out after a 7-8 hour road trip (done many)

 

Get the racecraft rails, you still have to drill seat to bolt the rails to. Put the car on level ground and get someone to help you adjust it for the best positioning

 

I have been in mine for like 2 hours and would drive longer. They are more comfortable than I thought they would be.

 

Thanks for the help guys, looks like ill br getting a set then, and ill look into those rails. I'd say the gray would probably look good in my car since I have grey carpet, what do you guys think?

 

Yes their pretty comfortable. More than the stock seats to me

 

All of you must be small guys. These pro street seats are horrible. Anyone who says they are better than stock needs their head checked. I'm 6'5 and about 265-270 and these things suck. So much so that I only put them in when I'm going to the track. Otherwise it's my stock TA seats.

 

Unless you have a 5 point harness for a seatbelt the stock one is pretty much useless aswell.

 

I'm not a small guy, I'm 6'0 and 310lbs I fit comfortably in my 18" Kirkey pro street seats. I've sat in them for several hours at a time on cruise nights without ever being uncomfortable. I ready do not notice a difference between the stock Camaro seats and the Kirkey seats.

 

I fit in mine just fine but i wouldnt ride 2hrs in mine for anything unless i had a chiropractor waiting on me.

 

Do you guys have any pics of the seats installed? Also, how much do they weight?

If I remember the stock camaro seats were around 40ish pounds when I weighed them. I wouldn't mind shedding a few pounds off the car if they are worth it.

 

i have a 15" seat.... im 5'7'' and 150lbs

my seat/seat cover/racecraft rails weighed 17lbs, i didnt swiss cheese the seat either

my previous cloth camaro seat that i modified weighed 34lbs and my stock leather TA seat weighed about 56lbs

^^ Are you running those seats with no support from the cage to the back of the seat? I thought that was mandatory otherwise you'll tear the brackets through the seat?

 

^I was thinking the same thing. Aren't they pretty flimsy without connecting to the roll bar/cage?

 

mines not flimsy at all not connected to the cage

 

You're supposed to run them with a back brace per the manufacture

The issue is if you were to get in an accident with an unbraced seat it could snap and cause an injury/death/etc

The seats were not designed to be installed with out a brace.
