Default why so I keep bending srange 35 spline axles on 500hp

Ok just like the title says I keep bending my strange 35 spline s/s axles. Mainly the driver side but it bends so bad the abs and traction control disable. This is second set. Cars setup is as follows.

2001 trans am full weight
6 speed monster stg 4
418ls3 500rwhp
mwc 9 narrowed 2.25 with watts link
strang s trac diff 3.90 gear.

60 fts are 1.50s at 4500rpm launch
mt et streets 26x11.50

I cant see my power lvl being to much for these axles. Do I need to upgrade to a stronger race axle from the s/s or is something wrong in my setup

I have a friend that has been 8.80s @ 155 in a 3600 lb F body on a set of 31 spline axles and has been like that for quite a few years, 1.30 sixtys...

I think there's something going on that causing the issues? Is it twisting the spline?

Have any photos ?

I have and they dont know whats up either. Everything is true up intill a hard launch at the track. Im windering if the watts link is adjusted improperly. The axles slide in and out of housing fine so I dont think thats it. Car sqauats alot in rear on launch so um windering if watts libk tie rods are pulling back on the axle housings

Did you check with Strange?

Twisting axels can happen from HP exceeding the axel rating. Bending is not normally from HP.

35 splines shouldnt have any issues with 1000+hp much less 500Hp. I Have gun drilled moser 35 splines in a **** non braced moser 9" hosing with a spool and the cars been low 8's on heavy nitrous use with no issues.
rears been together for years

Somthing sketchy going on fo sho back there.

I talked to strange all they recommended was sending them axles to see if there was a strength issue with tthe.m. I may try to adjust the watts link and add a drag bar.. strange did say that since im a stick car It may just be to hard on it

Is it slamming the bump stops on launch?

So if the bump stops are removed, what limits the travel? A shock mounted jounce bumper...or can the axle tube contact the spring pocket/frame rail?

From experience, a 45-5500 rpm launch is intense... and what may sound like the bang of driveline slop during clutch release may be the frame rail impacting the axle tube. The "potential" sudden impact may be causing the axle to bend.

Have you looked for witness marks?

Sound slike Strange has the bets method to starting the correction process. Send them the axles and let them look them over. Might give you the info you need to start fixing it.
