Default The Hater

Not sure on this. Been doing some research on a future build. I have a 94z that was bought with a spun motor. Well some vandals took it apon themselves to steel the hood bust the driver and passenger windows and take my anniversary rims.. Has been sitting at my friends shop for about 3 years now... If rust hasn't destroyed it I am wanting to make a hell of a drag car out of it. I mean a man cryer hah.

I have been trying to find a power plant to make my needs. I want to try to stay with an LS block if that is even feesable. A friend showed me over to the pro line motors. The 468 LSX to be specific. Does anyone know how their motors are? Or even worth it for my goal? My goal is to be in the 9's with a single large turbo. Thinking of a th400 with a reverse valve. Would like to stay small tire. And maybe stay close to "street" as well of course it will be trailered to "Mexico" for all my racing needs

Could I get some input from you all?

Thanks in advance!

Do not need a proline engine to go 9s, 6.0 317 heads and spec cam and turbo can do that in a good chassis.

Well I thought of an iron block, but for the matter of getting down the strip with minimal loss of power, such as keeping the front down, would it be good to put in ls3 bottom end and stay with an iron block?

See that's why I was hesitant. I am still researching all of my options, I have seen a few people go back and use a Big Block or an older small block

You can get a junk yard 6.0, cam, intake, fresh set of heads and turbo can do work. Research in the force induction section they will have all the answers.

Yeah you don't need a 50k dollar motor to go 9's. I have an ls1 with rods and Pistons going 9's and has been running for 3-4 years now. Get a 5.3 and some decent rods and Pistons. Slap 317 heads and an ls1/6 intake on it with some head studs and better springs. You can run those motors into the 9's rather easily.
