Pepper runs a new BEST.
How is the idle of the C2 cam compared to the C1? The reason I ask is that I too, am also going to go with some of those new XE-R lobes on my new cam. If it idles the same or better than the C1, I might consider going bigger than my original plan. Talk to me amigo.

Mind answering a few questions?
Do you know what the car weighed?
You said you blew up the motor...is it back together with a stock rebuild, or did you get another stock shortblock? If you rebuilt it, did you do upgrade anything...such as pistons, crank, etc.
Thanks, and congrats again.
Congrats on the new bests.

The RT is like that for a reason. I wait for the lights to come on and then recheck my launch RPM's as the other fella in the other lane takes off. Since I am not racing any one per say, and just looking for "a number" it is really a non-issue with me. I want to make sure I am at the RPM that I want to be at.
And once he is gone, I dont have to worry about his loud *** trailor car drowning out out my cars sounds. I need to hear what all is going on. Giving the other fella a second or so to get going and then after I have got my house in order. (RPM's where I want them and everything is looking good) I hit it.
I dont want to be "all up on the converter" while I am sitting there waiting for the lights to start dropping. That serves no purpose other than heating up the tranny needlessly. So I wait until the third yellow comes on, pop the revs up to my target RPM and then if everything is hunky dory I stab it and hang on.
I try and do everything the same one every run. I only change the one thing that I am experimenting with at that particular time.
So far that system is working pretty good. You guys on your bracket racing nights take care of that R/T. Me? I am just working on E.T. R/T is a non-issue.

I'm absolutely dumbfounded by (and jealous of) that 60 ft time!

BTW John, are you still using the 10 bolt?
later,
Steve
It's amazing that John can get get his car to better it's 60ft times .06 when it's doing a 1.44 already. Heck he picked up .22sec in the 1/4 mile ET and all he did was remove the muffler and adjust the tire pressure.
Amazing just amazing.

I should be back together in 6-7 weeks, if my estimates are right, and things come together as I hope they will. The good weather will be gone by then, but I have some pretty high goals for the car once it comes back together...
Anyway, congrats!!!!!
Temp don't change density altitude as much as humidity and pressure does

I'd have to disagree slightly here. If you play with any DA calculator, you'll see that of the three main factors(ambient air temp, humidity, and baro. pressure), humidity plays the smallest role. 10º drops in temp. are normal out at HRP on any given night and this will send the DA dropping quickly. On the other hand, increases in dewpoint temp. tend to rise come nightfall, hence the humidity will come up and "moisten" the air a bit. Just some weather phenomena I've noticed...
