John dont buy a steel trailer.
THERE JUNK..

They rust badly and r heavy..
Spend the money and buy a Feathelite or Exiss.
Sure, there 3900 but it lasts a lifetime plus it never needs painting.

Steel is 3000lbs
Alum. 1000lbs

I'm going 1/2's on a Exiss w/my boss
All I need now is a G3500 Crew Cab Duelly
Wanna lend me 40K

JS - You're off by 1,000#. I have an 18' dovetail steel floor that tips the scales at 2,050#. I LOVE it!

Trev,Is it 18FT or 18.6?
IMO 18 is alittle to small...
What the width 98 or 102?

Do u have removable wheel wells?
Can u open BOTH doors of your car when its on the trailer?Whats the GVW of your trailer?

18', 102" width, no removable wheel wells, but I can open both doors with a few inches to spare; my car weighs ~3,470# w/ out me in it sitting on 17's
The 18' is MORE than enough! If you want a small trailer, try a 16' flatbed. been there done that

Yeah, 3000 lbs is way off.

I also have an 18" steal dovetail with pullout ramps. No problem opening the doors. Plenty of room to spare. Seems like it was about $850 new?

Not sure on that one, hence the question mark. Maybe it was more like $1100??? I'll have to check.

There's a place near Beaumont, TX that you can pick up a flat bad car hauler for about $1k drive-out...

Excellent work John!!!

Someone told me about this thread and it's been months since I read something so good about the LS1! I'm excited for the LS1 net community once again.

John, I was talking to a few people and we were thinking about setting up a LS1 seminar for the locals. It would focus around your achievements and how you got there and we may even be able to get some press involved. I'm sure PSJ can get MFBA support and the turnout would probably be excellent. How about it PSJ? Do you think you would be interested in learning how to launch your 422 into the 1.3's from the best of the best in the country? PSJ, we have to do something, the LS1's in Chicago are lagging way way behind even with massive cubes and power adders! I would definitely be interested in an optimized running LS1 then spending the money on more parts. I knew I should of waited before I bought that ATI. Crap...

So, what do you guys think, maybe we can even get GMHTP to cover it and it may turn into a country wide career for John.

Hey y'all!
I just got home from buying a new 18' car hauling trailer. It is FINE. 5' wrap around tounge, 30" dove tail, 5' pull out ladder frame ramps that can hold a SUV, Bull Dog flip jack, Bull Dog hitch, diamond plate tear drop fenders, elctric brakes with controller and 12 volt break away, New tires with chrome mag wheels that look like my Weld wheels, steel diamond plate construction, D-rings, 5" channel frame construction. It is a "Trailmaster", just looking at it you can see it is "top notch". Man it is fine. So tomorrow I'm on my way to San Antonio for some racing @ RRR(blow me Tim, you underachieving agitator). Dang this thing looks good hooked up to my Avalanche. (Can ya tell I'm excited?) I shopped long and hard for this thing. I am confident I made a good choice.

JAZ Blk? Sure... I would love to help everyone out. My set up is simplicity at it's finest. I dont mind sharing my tech at all. So how do you want to do this?

Congrats on he runs!! Leave it to Raughammer to set the bar. Someone today told me you even removed the dash for those runs? What all did you have left in the interior? Does it still have AC and such?

Congrats again!

LOL, too funny. Chris I still have the dash in the car...also in the car are the headliner, center console, rear panels and speakers and radio, front bumper, both door bars, door panels, etc... all that is missing inside is the seats/belts and the stock carpet. I DO have aftermarket carpet in the car. Oh yea... I took out the passenger air bag. I love rumors....truthfully I guess I love smashing them. Haters SUCK. Kool thing about haters? They are usually slow and underachievers.
I will be out at RCR tomorrow... maybe you can come out and see the car?

Jeff? what is the ETA on your car? Thanks for the kind words.... Good luck bud.

Yea, it should be cold and dry tomorrow. (much different than today)
I am really wanting to kick some serious hiney tommorow.
I think since I wont be driving the car on the street down there. That I can remove the front bumper tonight. I feel I need to do.."something"...I have a whole night to get ready.

Anybody got any ideas of other things I can do...ya know. "one time only things"?

I REALLY want to run that magical 10.5x run. Dang thats fast...I still cant get over the car did a 10.66. If I do not ever get to 10.5 with the stock cubes...that would be ok. Heck...10.6 is plenty quick. But no matter if I get it or not... it sure is fun trying!

I'll see you S/A fellas tomorrow.
