Default Check out what is going to make me HOOK!

Saw these about five years ago but thought they were "too race" for me. My friend said they were a miracle cure for his big block third gen.so I'm going to build some lift bars for my car since they don't make them anymore. I know this is a "race only" set up but i don't care if it rides like a tank as long as it hooks!

Why not put ladder bars in, so that you can still adjust the pinion angle? About the same amount of work will net something that works a whole lot better. If you really want something that bolts in and works about the same, try Pete-Z bars.

I'd just get the Pete Z bars, at least you are legal for classes and it won't be as radical. Looks like bars like off of Dante's car.

That is the southside machine setup for the third gens, but like everyone else said, you cant adjust pinion angle, the instructions say to set pinion angle before welding to the rear axle(non-adjustable). I have heard the system is great for traction though, and how many people re-adjust pinion angle after setting it?? Good luck on that setup.

If you changed rear tire diameter or ride height after installing these bars you could be in a world of problems!

Ride height change would alter the Pinion angle but not Tire diameter.

You're right. What I meant was that if you change the tire diameter you will also change the ride height to make everything look right. At least I would. And at that point wouldn't your pinion angle be off?

Pete Z bars. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...ight=PETE+BARS The little bit of testing on the street has felt really good. I haven't been able to play too much as I was tracking down a vibration. Hoping to have it sorted out so I can play with it this weekend.

That would be pictures of my car I have been chasing down a vibration for a few weeks so I have not been able to really test them out. Now that I have the rear and driveline back in my posesion, I will hopefully be trying them out for real soon. If you do a search, you will find where I posted my first impressions (All being good).
