New 6-speed bolt-on record
Reaction time: .663
60-foot ET: 1.772
330-foot ET: 4.928
1/8-mile ET: 7.548
1/8-mile MPH: 94.49
1000-foot ET: 9.799
1/4-mile ET: 11.699
1/4-mile MPH: 119.04
Now, then. This pass was made today (Feb. 9th, 2002) at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, TX. Raceweight was 3206. Hey, if the A4 guys can do it, so can the M6 guys. This pass was made on 26 x 11.5 x 16 ET Streets in 70-degree weather with the stock clutch and rear. And by stock rear I mean completely stock as in 3.42 gears. As far as I know, there is no video. But, I have lots and lots of witnesses including the esteemed Mr. John Campbell. As far as future goals: a strong rear with some steeper gears and more weight reduction and going after the combined bolt-on record. Take care now, bye-bye then.
Alan
If you plan on launching many more times on the ET Streets, you better start saving for that 12-bolt and a better clutch.
Damn impressive times!
BTW I'm glad we never got to line up together! (I woulda had to spray on ya)
Nice meeting ya today too!

Hmmm carpet, console, k-member/a-arms & N2O bottle = 110+ lbs.
Will you do me a favor and post all of your weight reduction?
Here's mine... passenger seat, back seats, Draglites, side panels, back speakers/panels, hatch cover, winshield washer reservoir, front sway bar.
+ 12 bolt, Denny's Driveshaft, N20 bottle/TNT F1 kit. (+ chromoly cage soon)
I think the 12 bolt is adding at least 100 lbs, anyone know much much weight you gain with a 12 bolt??
Are there any other permanent weight reduction mods that I am missing, I hate pulling weight out to go to the track and then putting it back in.
Later, Justin
That run was freakin AWESOME! Congrats Alan! Hurry up and by the other head from me!
Oh and get a clutch and a 12 bolt! I can see 11.5's or 11.4's with a 12 bolt(4.10's) and a clutch that grabs!
Congrats again!

Did he make a deposit and bring one head back? I had mentioned that to him before so that we could all drool at it.

Darn nice runs. Congrats. You going with 4.10's or step up to something steeper like 4.33's or 4.56's?
Boy, I am getting stoked about the snow melting some day up here to get the car back out.
Good luck and take care.

Onyx, don't worry about your motor passes today. Those 28" ET Streets were killing ya. Nice spray run, though! And nice purge!
Bob, thanks, I thought so too!
Justin (jsears8), I removed the seats, carpet, speakers, panels, glove box, console, spare/jack, etc. and my front swaybar has been off for 2 months now. I "backed it up" with an 11.878 @ 118.99 (1.823). Only got 2 runs in, obviously (no roll cage), and they felt the need to be **** about it. Honestly, I don't know how I can possibly improve that 60'. I launched @ 6000 - 6100 and dumped the clutch. With 3.42's I wouldn't know how to get it any better. I didn't see what RPM I was at. No, the 6 tenths and 3 MPH came from a combination of the street tire to ET Street switch, 300 lbs. worth of weight reduction, and pullies.
Damian, what do you mean what's up with it? It's my sig from another board.
Mike, yeah that's about right, and not to take anything away from Jason, but he also has 4.30's in a 12-bolt and a strong clutch.
Dr. B., StreetStalkerZ, and Sean, thanks for the kind words!
Justin (Onyx), okay...here is the complete list...
carpet
visors
radio
panel under sterring column
console
speakers
speaker panels
glove box
spare/jack
rear seats/seatbelts
front passenger seat and seatbelt connector thing
front swaybar
skinnies
low gas
light driver (155 or so)
Things I should have taken off, but didn't:
Passenger seatbelt
Passenger airbag
Bumper supports
Catback
Side view mirrors
Antenna
Future bolt-on's:
Rear-end with non-3.42 gears, clutch, roll cage, SFC's, LCA's, drag launch suspension, Fernco coupler, AIR system removal, plugs/wires, LS1 Edit/wideband O2 dyno tuning, battery relocation (w/ lighter battery), lightweight driver seat, aluminum driveshaft, timing tricker...Anyone have any more to add?
Lots of people don't quite realize how much weight plays a part in 1/4-mile performance. I'm sick of everyone thinking the A4's times are just unreachable, when all it's going to take is the proper drivetrain and the willingness to strip the car and some good setups running in some good weather.
