Now you just need a way to dump the ballast a couple seconds after launch.

That could add like 3-4mph to your trap speed.

Last no prep of the year. I didnt manage to reset my old record at the airstrip of 5.9 from last year. But ran a few 6.1-6.2's My buddy bill in the 67 camaro holds the track record now. 5.8@134. turbo 370ci s485 combo that I built for him. So that was cool atleast. The 32x14" tires help lol

Just as I expected. Track was ehhh. Then they prepped for the classes and no prep lol.
Ls Fest was a blast though. My buddies from florida came and met up so we got to catch up and hang out.

If you can get that 60' down a bit, you might have yourself a pretty quick car...

Honestly though, I'd be stoked to reach that 1/8-mile trap speed in a full 1/4.

So the reason I only made a couple runs at lsfest is because the track was poop. I literally said to myself "Im not risking wadding my car up for this" So my boy michael entered the 10k shootout. We added a ton of my weight to his car for traction. We pushed his car all the way to the finals against Manna's bad motha. Well the finals went as expected and michael lost but he also lost control of the car and wadded it up. Im so pissed for him.

I sometimes wonder if the whole point of no-prep is to give spectators more crashes to cringe at.

Does anyone make a diff that can handle over 1000whp? That'd make it possible to do something like the "active handling" in C5s... brake one wheel to help keep the car pointed straight.

Then again, even if such a diff exists, who would want to be the the first person to test aftermarket one-wheel braking after they break traction at 100mph?

NSFW, racing no prep is very similar to street racing for me. As you know its alot more difficult to take a fast car down an un prepped surface. I get tired of racing on a prepped track where the guy with the highest HP car that spent the most money always wins. No prep turns it into a driver/tuners game.

The big problem was that it wasnt a no prep race. It was a constant rollercoaster of prep. They were supposed to be prepping during the day but "why because its so hot it wont do any good anyways"
Also due to so many oil downs and some glass breakage twice. The classes were pushed back further in time. We ran all the way to the semi's saturday night and the track got better and better when they were running the event as "no more prep" after the ultra street and 275 class etc.
the best the track was the entire weekend was running the "no more prep class" A couple guys went 1.10 60,s

We run no prep races quite a bit and as you said its a great equilizer for cars. Its all a tuners race. but when we can still make these cars run 4.9/5.0 on a **** surface its not that fair to the cars that simply dont have the power.

Its the hooking and then spinning out that is dangerous. I run those true no preps on airports its like the streets. I enjoy those. But the track when it hook-spin-hooks is shitty.
