Default 3rd or 4th gear thru traps with my new combo?

In the next couple of weeks I will have my MTI stageII heads, hammer cam, LS6 intake on my M6 with all the bolt-ons. I still have 342s. Will I go thru the traps in 3rd or 4th shifting @ 6600?

Thanks Paul <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

With a stock tire height and 3.42s, 6600 rpm in 3rd is 113, 4th up to 147 mph.

For future reference, take a look here http://www.f-body.org/gears/

BTW good choice on the new setup <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Thanks Mark, Weve met before. Last time @ Bradenton for the Viper, Vette, and FBody shootout.I was having problems with KR. It turned out to be my 2 year old ASP pully was separating. BTW they replaced it for me! I have the 00 Silver SS. When I heard you had the set-up I had ordered , I knew I had made the right decision.

Hey Paul,
I did not recognize your userid. Glad to hear that you got that KR figured out. That can be a major PITA. That pulley sounds like something I should keep an eye on.

I'm gonna do some before and after dyno #s. Current ET without the pully is 12.80s at 110. 60 fts are generally high 1.9s. I'll let you know how it all turns out. Pully is suppose to be in this week. Once I regroup and stash a few bucks, Ill get a 12 bolt.

Paul your gonna be shifting to 4th about 50 feet from the end. Gary tried to make it with his
2000 Z with the T1 and 3:42's @6,600. He ended up
bouncing off the limmiter right before the end.
You could allways borrow Daves 28's and make it though.

Sounds like you're getting a real sweet combo. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
You'll be going thru in 4th, right at the end of the track - I'm guessing like 100 ft or so. <img border="0" alt="[Chevrolet]" title="" src="graemlins/camaro.gif" />

Thats cool, I'm use to shifting right before the traps. When I break the stock ring and pinion I'll probably go to 3.73s.
