Rear Gear , What would you do ?
Getting alot of mix opinions from the local gear heads on what rear gear to use .. this is a new build and no dyno data , Just picked the motor up from the builder FBody car w/cage, 383 Stroker all Forged internals , AFR Heads, NOS plate 300 shot PowerGlide 1.76 Ratio w/Brake, car 3305lbs with me in it, 9inch rear on 28s. Car will be mostly a track car,
So what rear gear for 1/8 Racing would you use I have a 318,373,411,456 at my disposal or should I choose another ....thanks

4.56 will get you ~115mph in the 1/8. 4.11's 125mph. That is for 6500 rpms and some slippage from the converter.

More info needed...like LS based or LT-1 based....intake cam exhaust and stall info needed...6500 max rpm on a full forged 383 build...seems docile to say the least and doesn't match up with a glide cage race car. ALLLL of these things are REALLY important to truly determine what gear you should try first.
