Anyone take the TCS off?
That whole system looks like it has to weight 15-20#.
If anyone has a part number for a new cable, or any tips, please let me
know.
Thanks, Sean

all you need is to call up a dealer and say you want the throttle cable for a non traction control car for your year, or any year really. takes 2 minutes to swap out, the new cable just goes right from the peddle to the TB.
i did this a year ago, much better not having that crap there visually, but yeah it weights a few lbs ,too.
I always thought about taking it off, then today a was underneath the car
and saw ANOTHER big metal box attached to the frame by the front wheel.
I've had the car apart 100 times and never noticed it,traced the cable to
the TCS.I don't know if it's the cruise control or what...but it is soon to be
garbage.
So I came home and you guys posted and confirmed what I already thought.
So being the patient man that I am, I decided to rip it all off today.
Pulled it all off and decided since I need to buy a new cable anyway, why not
just modify the existing one?
I measure, cut the housing(removed it) and it works perfect!
Total cost $0.00
Total weight savings about 8 pounds.
Less weight than I thought by looking at it, but oh well, 8# is alot to me.

I had 3 cables total.
pedal to the "little cylinder"
"Little cylinder" to the TB
"little cylinder" to the box( I think it is the cruise control)
It doesn't fit as well in the TB bracket, so I just used some electrical tape across the top of the bracket to make sure it doesn't slide off.
Also, is there any way to remove the TCS while keeping cruise control, or is that a major PITA? I would really like to clean that mess out of the engine bay.
