Doing a burnout in 2nd gear?
So last year I hurt my trans a couple of times. Each time it was the sprag that rolled. This was from doing a 1-2 shift in the puddle. I have always had a hard time doing a burnout even in first gear on the street especially asphalt.
So I went to just doing burnouts in 1st and have not hurt the trans since but my trans builder is advising me to completely skip 1st gear and just do 2nd gear to keep the trans from fee spinning on decel out of the box, causing stress on the sprag.
Adding timing in the burnout box helped a lot, went from 14* to 24* total timing, but still struggled sometimes.
I wanted to know what tips could you guys give me on doing a burnout in 2nd gear?
OP what is your rear gear.
In my current 4L60 (3.52) is do 1st - 2nd and roll it all the way to the line. No issues so far, fingers crossed...
the track is no problem but on the street its hard to do a burnout maybe ill try laying a lot of prep down in a puddle and hope it gets the tires spinning

Do you have a linelock? Usually setting the linelock and smacking the throttle HARD will flash the converter and get the tires going if their wet. Works way better than just rolling into it
