Inspirational posts! Thanks for posting all the info!!
Your Camaro and now Fox build inspired me to start building this "Rat's nest" 79 Capri. Running the same fuel system you did in the Camaro, E85, MS3Pro Evo, FID injectors, FTI Glide, PTC Converter. Full UPR Pro Series suspension. The rest is quite a bit detuned from your level. Car is staying ugly just for fun. Freshened 5.3/799 Mostly stock with good bolts and ring gap opened + BTR valvetrain + Billet S480 and 20 or so psi!

Looks like a super fun project! I love the beaters when they come out and whoop people! Thanks for the support!
Where are you going to mount the icebox and intercooler on this build? Catch can etc all up front again, or?
I am a little torn at the moment. I was planning on under the dash for the cooler but the one I have is a little too large. It needs a functional passenger seat. So either going to sell it and buy another or Im going to get to welding to make it work.
Waiting to get the engine in and turbo mounted where I want first. then i will decide. likely a very similar catch can. That worked awesome.
Is that the LS Next2 block with 1/2in main cap threads? What kind of thrust bearing does it use? I read about a torrington bearing used but maybe that was custom.

It is the standard lsnext. Not the 2. Standard main bolts. 3/8 head studs. Nothing too crazy outside of the price of the block. Off the shelf block. Using stock sized bearings. Same exact block I had in the camaro.
how much to replicate a short block using your recipe? but in 4.125 bore?
This and my previous 3 engine have been nearly identical. I juts keep putting stronger internals in them.
They are all 4.125 bore and 3.622/3.625 stroke.
This one is pretty pricey.
$5,200 block
$2,400 crank
$1,600 rods
$950 pistons
$300 in bearings
Bore/hone, making sure all of the deck and lifter bores are correct, and blancing the rotating is about $6-700
thank you for posting this, I appreciate the part break down. makes me be able to plan for my engine. Im going to have you assemble it and ship it to me if you are down when I am ready for it.
Aright so, this car is obviously going to run 6's. But the real question is, could have black car have run them with the same setup you were cutting 1.0x and 1.1x sixties and do you still have it or did the guy finally pull through and put his empty threats aside?

If I would have had a little longer to test on a decent surface I would have put the camaro in the 6's. I have no doubts.
I needed to throw in the stiffer front springs to knock some of the stored energy out of the front end. Unfortunately I ran out of time to test.
I still have the car in my possession but the guy has paid all but $10k for it. He is working on the rest.
My quickest pass with the camaro was a 1.089 and i stabbed the pedal 3 times to keep it from driving into a wheelie. went a 4.62@155.7
