New R&D Car
Our new LS1 r&D car is finally finished. The car is a 1999 camaro t-top car. With full interior(all plastic racing seats ie.. looks like a stock car inside) weighed in at 2900LBS. With driver 3020lbs. The car has all the latest liteweight components from our shop. We are leaving tomorrow to go run the car in San Antonio.

Re: New R&D Car
The car has lost the a/c, p/s and antilock brakes. We put one of our power master cylinder delete kits on(10lbs) Of course our manual rack(19lbs). Our solid motor mounts(10lbs). Also we installed our new aluminum lower control arms and panhard bar. One of our adjustable t/a and QA1 shocks on all four corners. The interior has a turbo action shifter for the th350. An aluminum JAZ racing seat. Full chromemoly 10 point cage. I also found that the Meziere electric water pump weighs 5lbs less than the stock piece and keeps the motor very cool. Also the bumpers and door bars are removed. Lite weight carpet from Speed inc, and a P/A k member and control arms. This thing still has the stock brakes front and rear, Strange is next.

No, Ryan that is not the car. Madmans Hot Rod is black and is truly awesome. I can't wait to hear what it runs.
Iam off to Sealy, Tx. I got finished at the office to late to go to RCR.
Later,
Coach

Re: New R&D Car
With a young lady who hasnt ever shifted a race car before she ran a 13.50 first pass. Second pass she shifted at 4000 rpm and ran a 11.50. Then they forced us to run 1/8 mile and she ran a couple of 7.30s. All this from leaving from idle. Next sat we will try the trans brake. With her leaving from idle we saw 60ft times around 1.55.
The car is naturally aspirated with a stock bore and stroke shortblock, ls6 heads and intake and a custom ground cam from Cam Motion.

Re: New R&D Car
My car is 3225, which is about as light as its going to get. I'd love to get down to Pepper's or Janzter's weight.
