If ARE solved the leaky block problem 2 years ago nobody would even remember that it was ever a problem.

The car competes in "True Street" and has stock style suspension, full carpet, full cage, ALL interior panels in the car minus the hatch flip over cover (that is where the nitrous is mounted).
Dont forget this 8.97 run was from flatstabbing the gas!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />
They have 8.70's-8.8's off the brake <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Cheers,

I gotta tell ya I"M IMPRESSED.I figured an LT1 wouldve got into the 8's first but it didnt pan out.

The thing that upsets me is the BS.People knocking ARE or throwing snide comments into a post that have no bearing on the topic?

The bottem line is ALL the shops are still developing the bore motors.YES,there are some good ones out there with NO PROBLEMS but that doesnt mean the shops arent finding better ways to seal the blocks or keep the heads from lifting.

THAT IS WHAT R&D is about guys.
Its only gonna get better in time....

Be happy for ARE,They ran the number and u cant take that away from them. Are they the best LS1 shop in the world? Well I dont know about that but from the looks of it they've always seemed to try and help ANYONE freely, looking for info.

In then next comming months there will be a couple more 8 Sec LS1's {that I'm sure of},ARE got there first. So give them there due,They've earned it.

Congrats Wade,Barry keep pluggin away.....

R&D should be completed before the product is sold to the masses. This is not directed at ARE or anyone else inparticular. I just had to comment on your comment.

Congrats ARE, you guys have a ROCKIN' LS1. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Come on Tom,U cant be that ignorant to think these motors are PERFECT.I'm would think most of the shops discuss the pros and cons of these motors to there customers?

I know I would ask EVERY DETAIL when paying my hard earn money for one.I would also ask what kind of warranty I would get IF the setup crapped out.Sure on N20 I can see the shops not being so lovey dovey but on motor if the block started to develop a leak I'm sure they would fix it for u.

I agree to an extent that R&D at a customers expense is not good but if your buying one of these big bores I'd think you'd know your still charting fairly new territory...

IMO the R&Ding of these engines is evolving from week to week.I just think if your going big bore u better play quarterback and get all the info up front, sitting in the stands is not gonna get it done...

JMO,Tom......
Congrats to ARE-------->8.90's ROCK!!!!

When was the last time you heard about Tom racing? When was the last time you heard about me racing? I'm at 10 months now...Tom is in the same boat. This was over a year ago and the shop in question never had a leaker exposed to the public.

Don't get shitty with me. I'm not Terry Burger. A statement like that shows who is the ignoramous. You don't know what went down with my bore motor purchase so how can you comment on it.

When I asked about a bore motor I expressed my concerns about the leaking bore motors and if there was even a remote chance of leakage I would rather stay with a 360 set up. You know the rest of the story.

BTW this is not the place to comment on this subject anyway. If you have anymore questions or comments e-mail me or save it and make your comments in person.

Tom if said ANTHTING to upset u I am sorry.
I never meant it as a shot at u personally.

Please excepy my appolgy....
I know how bad u mustve felt with the whole situation.
I guess my point was that ALL the shops are charting territory that they truely dont have all the answers to yet,I would think u would agree with that after seeing most of them having a bad leaker or two.

This topic is for ARE getting into the 8's and if I said anything to get away from that,I'm sorry...

Again Tom I never meant my comments to be a personal shot at U,JP or anyone else thats had some problems.God knows I've had my share too.

Hope u get the ROOFER SS back to where it belongs,OUT IN FRONT <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
