Wheels up - whats it like?
. First pass on the gas and up we go on the rear bumper we land. Out come broken bellhousing, smashed up Kook's header and a cracked block in 3 different locations.
2 years of work for a pass and a half. Back to the drawing board. At the N vs S 04 LS1tech race the Factory Stock class wasn't allowed to have any wheelie bars per the rules. The field consisted of many cars running 10.20-10.50s NA with 346-360 ci LS1s. I tell you I had a a blast tuning the suspension to make the car hook and keep it from going vertical while cutting some of my best 60s.. 1.300's There were a couple fast cars that lost to some slower cars because they dragged the bumper, but big deal.. it was part of the game. The challenge of launching cars like ours (full body door cars) with no wheelie bars... IMO adds a little more excitement.

To a certain extent, wheelies don't kill et, just a natural extention of weight transfer and hooking. Granted you can adjust most bigger wheelies to be less or more, and sometimes more can unload your chassis worse than taming them down. But I'll agree, they sure look bitchin!

Landed right on it. I think it should have been a disqualification but they let it slide and I got 2nd in the King of the Kane Field race.
