Default Realistic 60-foots on 17-inch drag radials?

What's the best 60-foot times you folks have run on 17-inch drag radials? How much power were you putting out? I'm thinking about some 275/40-17 ET Street Radials, but I don't know if they'd have enough sidewall. I'm pushing rougly 450 rwhp on motor with an occaisional 300 shot on top through a six-speed.

They should do pretty decent. I have the 16" ones but I have yet to get below 2.006. I didn't have any trouble hooking, but the car kept falling flat on its face off the line.

I pulled a 1.85 on street tires peddling it quite a bit. A 1.7 should be attainable, if it will hold your power.

I used to get consistent 1.64's on 17" BFG radials.

DR's and a M6 don't mix well!
Consistent best is maybe 1.9's.

I just got MT 275/40 17's, I'm going to the track Wednesday night. If I don't pull 1.6x's I will be very disappointed. See sig. At 4,000 dump I'm leaving a 6-8 foot patch vs burning all the way through first gear not being able to give it full throttle.

I've cut a 1.79 on 16 inch BFG's and I have a buddy with a Vette that cut a 1.65 on 17 inch Nittos, both 6 speed cars.

I've cut a 1.60 on Nitto 315/35/17s mounted on 9.5" wheels. The best I got with the 275s was about a 1.75. I imagine that with a 17" ET Radial 1.50s are not to much to ask. As said above though, 6 speeds are a differnt ball game.

I'm guessing that was on nitrous, what's your best off of the bottle?

I'm cutting low 1.7's right now on 315/35/17 Nitto's on a 9.5" rim and a small stall (vig2800)

Yeah, I hit the nitrous about 10' out or so. I've never made an N/A pass but I would probrably expect a 1.7 or so. If prep is good I usually foot brake to about 3,200 rpm. I found that those Nittos liked alot of heat and about 12-14 psi of air (cold). I think that they are working pretty well for your N/A small stall combo. I switched to a 275/50/15 M/T DR this year in hopes of some low 1.50s.

i cut some low 1.6's today on the mt 17 et street radials...
dynoed 440rwhp...so they seem to hook pretty well...for me any way..

they seem like they dont like to be shocked much..but worked well just squeezing the pedal down...

best 11.61...

98 ss lots of mods..but no spray....

I know the M6 guys like to come out at those high rpm's but it doesn't pay if you're gonna shock those tires and break them loose. You gotta find that sweet spot. As far as a 300 shot, I don't know if any 17in DR will hold that off the line but with a progressive controller and alot of test runs maybe you could tweak your set up to make it work.

I have 275/40/17 M/T ET radials and I cut a 1.83 friday night on them, dumped it at 4k and it dead hooked, then I tried about 4800 and it hooked for a minute then broke loose. I think if I had heated them up a little more on the last run I would have hooked on them also. I love the M/T DR's, they are awesome!

Just got back from the track. 17" ET Street Radials were getting me 1.9 all day. I could never break 2.1 even with Nittos.... They seem to be really good. Once I get used to my new upgrades these tires should be good for even more.

My best 60' on the 275/40/17 Nitto DRs is 1.69. Most are low 1.7s. Power in sig.
