Default anyone ever wore a set of ET Streets out to the cords?

I'm down to very little grooves left, center is groove is almost gone, outer 2 grooves are there but well into the wear indicators. I'm wondering how much rubber is left on them. As usual I waited to the last minute to order some tires and of course one is coming from california so now I wont get them in time for a race next week and cant cancel because they already shipped.

Just wondering how much I have left to go before I see cords, I never wore a set of these this far

Not very long. I was in the same boat once, ran the car one night, 4th run, the rear got out of hand and slid around like I was on ice all of a sudden, scared the **** out me, *** was puckering hard! Luckily I got off the throttle and rolled it out, safely. I wont tempt it again. Good luck.

Check the little pinholes that are on the tires. They will show how much meat is left. I used a set last week that had NO grooves left, but the pinholes still had some depth to them. I put 6 passes on them with 1.6 60's and good burnouts. They prob. have 1 more trip to the track in them. I'm hoping to get some slicks soon and not need to push them much further.

These dont have the little wear holes like regular slicks or QTPs, They have the little chicken feet all the way on the outsides and they are still there barely. But when I drive on the street I keep a lot of air in them and the center groove is pretty well gone. I think I'll grab a set of ET drags local and use the QTPs later, I'm going to the invite only pontiac shootout next week and I dont want to make one pass and quit because the tires are bald

These probably have a couple more let in them sean but I went ahead and did the 28x10 ET drags today. I didnt want to whip out the grinder and 5lb thor hammer just yet but I did it anyhow

I'll put the QTPs on different street wheels when I do the rear race brakes.

How bad was it? (the grinding/bfh'ng) I am going to the same size slick in the next couple of weeks. Just wondering how much "massage work" it will require. I thought they would fit w/minimal clearance issues

we're still running those 15" et streets that dist0rtion_69 bought from you with the draglites over a year ago. The grooves are far gone as well as the indicators, still roll just no hooking at all. Can't be safe...

The usual grind away half the bump stop and beat the bottom of the inner fender with a BFH. Plus beating the bottom front edge of the 1/4 panel with a hammer, not for the timid Plus I tied back the rear bumper with zip ties.

I think I have enough room now, find out soon enough.

LOL Fade2blk500, them old 10.5x27s are still goin eh, that was more like 2 years ago I think.

LOL!

I wore a set of 26x10.5's out at MIR a couple years back, then drove over a 100 miles home on them.

I started bringing an extra set of rear tires to the track with me after that

They cut low 1.5 60fts till the end
