Default 1/2" studs in stock hubs...what the F#)%K am I doing wrong?

Well I got the old studs out, but the new studs are considerably larger. Do I just drill out the holes to just big enough for the new studs? Or do I thread them in from the back with a socket in the small hole? They are the Moroso press in studs if that helps.

Please help me as I wanna get these wheels on tonight

Nate

Need to have the holes redrilled to accept the larger studs. Don't drill them out yourself. Bit will wander.... bolt pattern will be off.... wheel will either not bolt up or will wobble.

I just went from stock dia. to 5/8"..... couldn't find anyone local to do the work.

Need an axle jig.... give Strange or Moser a shout..... they'll redrill the flanges for about $60.00

Oh yeah, that can turn out really ugly... Sorry Nate, but it really would be best to get another set of axles, or have a rearend/axle shop drill em for you.

Any automotive machine shop will drill out the holes, anyone with a drill press can do it really.

If the knurl diameter is just a tiny bit larger they will go in though, I have drilled them out a little larger on the car but you have to be careful and go 1/32 larger at a time.

I would think the hole needs to be .005--.010 under the stud knurl size.
This would be a press fit for the stud. ( 1/32= .031)

I would just get some ARP studs that way you can reuse your same lug nuts and dont have to drill out the hole. ARP p/n 100-7708 is the same size stud as stock

I'm talking about if he has to open for a larger knurl to go one drill size at a time to keep it centered easier, not going bigger then the knurl..

ARP studs can be NHRA legal, mine are Depends on the wheels..
