Default Parachute mounts that don't interfere w/ license plate?

Are there any examples of how one might mount a chute so it doesn't interfere with license plate?

Post up pics!

I just talked to Stenod about making a setup like this available as a bolt on. It sounds like there might enough interest for it.

mine is removeable..so you could take the tag off and put the chute on when you get to the track.

Some of the roads we race on would require a chute to shut down on, and even if we were on a longer road its always nice to get stopped sooner than later

I am really intrested in that setup, it would run about $600-$700?

Even if its a one-off job I would be intrested in getting one made.

Let me work out the details with Stenod on what the cost would be and I'll get back to you. The largest cost is the parachute itself. Would you be cool with mounting the handle yourself or having a local shop weld it to your cage or wherever you want it?

Thats fine, we can weld.

Just let me know when you get the cost worked out, I should have cash in hand in a week or two for this, or i can send a smaller deposit on a kit once you get it worked out.

Yes. A single bolt at the bottom holds the chute and bracket. Two very small bolts are at the top. There are two small brackets that you need to rivet to the plastic rear piece to support it. So, when it's removed you would have to look real hard to find the tabs. That's the only thing that would be visible. I'll try to find a picture for that. The only remaining thing is to pull the chute cable into the car somewhere when you have it removed and drilling the hole where you want that to come out. We drilled the hole in Kevin's car so that it came out under the passenger side tail light, where the body meets the light.

I'll have the cost worked out no later than Monday. With Stenod traveling this week it'll be hard for him to get a chance to figure out how much he wants for all the pieces.

get a flip down plate mount from an older car[i.e. nova] and you just lay it down slide chute in, and remove when driving, very simple very cheap

when the rear bumper is on, the bigger tube ends at license plate ,,then alls you have to do is flip plate down, and slide in chute mount, we do the same thing on C5,s,and than you not altering your plate which is illegal here in new york, ill get pic with bumper on as its on now,bob

I don't want to have to take the chute off when driving

I talked to Stenod about it over the weekend. He's going to dig himself out this morning and hopefully be able to look at this today. I just talked to him to remind him as well.

Don't worry I'm on it! Stenod is a busy **** so he gave the homework to me!

I'll come up with something in the next day or so...maybe sooner!
