Default Roll cage in my Daily driver(pics)...

Had to put a bar in the car (finally caught up with me!) So I had my buddy that does all the custom roll bar work around here put me one in.
I wanted it as inconspicuous as possible and it had to be baby seat friendly!
I hardly know its there. Still gotta neaten up the padding a bit.

Thanks. Its welded in with plates so its very sturdy. I do have the removable center bar(it bolts in) with the 5-point harness mount for track duty(its not baby seat friendly!)

The rear cross bar is manditory to be welded in to meat nhra specs. Some tracks may not look but FYI it is NOT allowed to be bolt in style.

Its just to keep the local tracks happy around here and offer some protection if case of a mishap. It only runs mid-high nines(WHEN we actually run it!) so its not crazy fast. If it where an eight sec car I'd definately have to put more in it.
We actually had to redo the rear bars on my wifes NMRA drag radial car and run them through the rear seats for the angle to be legal for certification along with running the hoop through the floor and attaching it to the subframes.

What cage did you have in the mustang? I'm sure it was pretty serious.

Wasnt real serious)10pt) ,just real neat. He had to run the rear bars THROUGH the back seats and I swear it looks like the car was made that way! He ran the Hoop through the floor to the sub frames and custom bent the door bars around the seats/door panels(not to big of a deal UNLESS its a SN95!). The bars follow the contour of the car perfectly.

I'll def have to see what they can do for me. They've always been really cool. Used to get my Bottle filled there. I know it gets pricy on welding c-moly. Not looking forward to that. I need some brackets on my intercooler too. So.. I need to go by there anyways.

thats awesome to see a cage like that. im gonna need one and i still need baby seat access also...ive just been worrying about the legality of the bolt in bar. the track here seems like theyre starting to get picky. i barely broke 8.49 (1/8) on a REALLY good night (i generally run 8.75's) and theyre being **** about not having a helmet on that run (it was in the car), and another guy here has been getting close to needing a cage and theyre already on top of him about it...

by the way nosjnky...your car makes me ...its actually my background at work...thank you

Thanks.
Yeah, every tracks different thats for sure. Its always nice to have a tech guy as your "friend"! Luckily most tracks here locally arent to bad, if they look in the car and see a roll bar that normally sataisfies them(to a certain point of course) On the flip side, I certainly understand them wanting everyone to be safe. My wife smacked the wall at 130+ in her 10.5 outlaw car a few years back and destroyed the car but she didnt have a scratch(had all her safety equip on and good roll cage)
Anyway good luck and thanks for the compliments!

yeah, i know what you mean. its not that i dont want to be safe, or try to get by the rules, but it is a daily driver that im hoping will be very quick, and ive got a yungun that does ride in the car a bit (he actually LOVES to ride)...and our other vehicle isnt always available when i have to take him with me. if i can get a beater, im hoping the T/A will be taken out of DD status...[/fingers crossed]...

keep her lookin good...

i dont see any side bars or spine bar why would you put in such an illegal ,piece, just curious is it just for show, as you wouldnt be allowed at any track up here,,are the rules that loose down there, bob
