Looks good. I hope you didn't have to work on it outside with all that snow on the ground.

damn, hood even lines up good. Nice job... after seeing that, it does make the proposition a little more attractive.

But, the whole pin on hood, and nitrous just worries me, I know I"m gonna spray my car, and if something under the hood ever went array, it's gonna take a LONG time to get that hood off.......

I know what you meen. You could always do the Noyzee approach and launch it about 30 feet in the air.

Thanks guys.
The white stuff is called snow, it's cold.
The duz brackets don't weigh much at all and I used aluminum for the rest of it. If I had to guess I would say all of it weighs no more than 2-3 lbs. Here are a couple more pics of the brackets.

Thanks Mike. I did the work myself. I had an appointment for an install but the hood got delivered 3 weeks late (thanks VFN) and I missed my spot. I called for a new appointment and the guy said he'd call when he had a slot open, I waited about a week and said screw it, I'm doing it myself.
Took me about 20 hours total including prep and paint but what can I say "I'm an MRI tech". hehe

That looks awesome man. It makes me want to get my Sunoco pin-on real bad now.

One question though, at what point mph wise would you need to dzus a hood on like you have it? I was just going to put four pins. You're making me rethink that.

Do you have a write up of how you did the brackets and all that? Because your setup looks really clean with the mini-dzus.

I don't think 4 pins is gonna cut it. If it was a bolt on hood and you wanted to pin it where the hinges go I could see that but if it's a true lightweight pin on you would need a minimum of around 10. There's a member who had pretty much the same hood as me and he put 9 and say's it's been good to 130+ mph.
I didn't do a write up. Basiacally I bend the Duz brackets with the help of some heat and riveted them to the Home Depot aluminum stock. I drilled the holes oversized on the side brackets to allow for some adjustment. The front are riveted to the frame and rear brackets are bolted in on the cowl. When drilling the holes on the hood I used blue painters tape and with the hood off taped from the fender to the bracket and traced out the hole then peeled back the tape off the brackets, placed the hood on and pulled the tape over the hood and drilled. For the front and rear brackets I used my kids playdough and stuck it to the hood pressed on the bracket and drilled from there. I just really took my time making the brackets and fitting them just right, anyone can do it.
I've got 15 pins on it, maybe a little overkill but I thought the way the front of the Trans Am hood is I needed a couple extra.

Should be about 130lbs lighter than last season between the hood, door panels, a arms etc. I'd be down 150lbs if I pull the rear bumper but I drive around with 2- 5gal jugs of race fuel all the time.
We could convoy down to Atco but I'd be at 55-60 mph the whole way down because my converter doesn't lock up. I usually try and get a trailor for an Atco trip and I've only done that for the rental days.
Besides Alex- now we are BOTH legal for Etown with our nice new Dynatechs.
My best at the end of last year at Atco was a 10.44 and 2 days later I clicked off a 10.46 at Etown so unless it's a rental day, I'll probably pass on the trip. Thanks for the invite though.
Hey, BTW why don't we meet up this Wed night at Etown if you're not busy. I'll definately be there.
