Question Does having your T-Tops off slow you down?

well today i ran my friend and my car felt like it just wasnt pulling that hard on the top end it felt like the car was not as fast as it usauly is but this was my first time racing it hard, he only got me by half a car he has gone 13.40
but now he has more stuff done to his car ohya its a evo 9 with hella bolt ons
and wieght reductions so should i have been able to beet him or not?

oh shoot i didnt notice i put that i ment to say with the t-tops off....i have a automatic with lid,edelbrock headers,custom y-pipe,custom exhaust,e-cut off,
talor spark plug wires,a/c delete,but i didnt put my t-tops back on,thanks for pointing that out....

the main thing that is hurting me is i wieght about 550 pounds my self, the bad thing is my honda pulls him hella bad like 7-8 cars thats why it suprised me when he beat me....

If it's a rolling race, it's not far fetched to lose if the car isn't tuned. I'd think you should have won, but 550 lbs is a lot of weight vs. a lighter EVO.

T-tops out should not make that much difference..

evos are quick with or without mods. if he got the jump than he prob should beat yah.i see them runnin 12s all the time. but im not a fan

I actually disagree, at higher speeds it will create excess drag. Meaning 80+ MPH.

Yes it does slow you down. Waaaaaaay down. The faster you go the more wind/drag is caught. I raced someone in an evo actually. They beat me the first time when I had windows down and T-Tops off. Second race I put T-Tops on and closed windows, then I pulled on them.

see thats what i was thinking because when im at the track i have to have my windows up and tops on so ive never raced with the tops off any of my cars...i dont realy street race any more.....
