Default Front tire Air Pressure

Would runnin 55psi in the front tires be a bad idea at the track? I've been told that I coud pick up a MPH on the top end by lessening the surface area of the front tire, Thanks!

Are you talking about a skinny or a regular stock style tire? I run 45 in my skinny radials, but would not go any higher than 40 in a regular radial.

Yeah all that may happen but I wouldnt suggest doing it.10psi may not seem like alot but in a tire its quite a bit. There would be the possibility of that tire blowing and putting you into the wall. Not worth the risk for 1 mph in my opinion

They are nitto tires on stock rim, yeah I was worried about it popping on me while filling it. 40 PSI would be alright tho eah?

The only way to know is try both at the track and see if there is a difference or not. I do know that generally the higher the PSI-there is less rolling resistance which equal more MPH down the track.

I've run my 245/50/16 tires at 45 psi, but they are a little bit twitchy there. Normally I'm at 35 psi. I've seen a tad of mph increase between the 2 settings (.3-.4), but not enough IMHO to justify running high.

I run my Goodyear front runners at 30 psi to 32 psi. It all depends on how hard I am hitting the tree.

Becareful, I personally use 40 in my front runners, and have never seen more than 45 in any of my buddies cars.

40 psi is enough to get the rolling resistance down, any more then that and I think you're taking an uneeded risk

I have done hundreds of passes @ 60psi in VW tires, no problems. But I'm only crossing the line at ~100 though.

I run the 4 ply sportsman tires, and run them at 45.
