Default Rubber on my fender!!!???

I've posted this question on another forum, and the anwer was PAM. I'll try that...

What can I do to keep the rubber from sticking to my rear fender at the race track?(rubber from track/tires @ burnout) I've been using turtle wax, but it isn't very effective and it looks bad.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

there's only one thing I've ever seen work... put tape all over it and then peel off the tape.

Or get over it and leave it... That's about the only real 2 options I know of.

I took the tip from someone here (I think it was KP) and tried the product called Duragloss. It's a silicone type spray and it works great. I ordered it from Ebay. Pam and WD40 turns the rubber residue into a nasty mess like ink or toner so be careful.

The blue masking tape works also, but it's a pain sometimes. I race too much to bother with the tape anymore. The Geddex Burnout guard works ok, but is no where near as good as the Duragloss. I bought a case of it

Ive always used Burnout Gaurd, but never ran slicks. The rubber from these ETDrags seems to be much more adhesive and it doesnt work as well.

Still use it though, cause removing the rubber is still easier than without it. Just wash your car when you get home from the races instead of waiting till the next day/week whatever.

Geddex Burnout gaurd. Available from Jegs. Just spray it on before your burnouts, then wipe or wash it away when done for the day. It works great.

It's the Duragloss #265 Ultimate detail.

Do a search for Duragloss in the forum and there's a pic of the actual can. Some auto parts stores carry it as well. It's sure make an engine bay look purty too

Good luck!

GM just started to put mylar on the rear of the new GMT 900's to help with rock chips. You put it on like a decal and then its pretty clear. I havent tried it with rubber yet but if it gets too bad just peal it off and put on a new piece. I 'll try it this summer.

I leave it there. That way it protects from rock chips kicked up from running sticky tires on the street. One day when I wash it off that part of the car will look brand new, while the rest will look like ***. It'll be like that scene from Days of Thunder:

"Look at that, one part of the car we don't have to replace!"

Painters tape. Obviously keeps the rubber off the car entirely, and it comes off very easy... sometimes too easy.
