Default Part 3 of my project (cage, engine, engine bay painted) finished. Lots of pics.

I finished up most of the paint one the car here are some pics. I painted the front frame area black to give it a full frame look and I like the way it ties in with the cage. The black is POR-15.

Here is Part 1 of my project (mini tubs) https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-tech/677919-part-1-my-project-mini-tubs-finished-lots-pics.html

Here is part 2 complete(roll cage) https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-tech/706432-part-2-my-project-roll-cage-finished-lots-pics.html

Edit: part 4 complete (finishing up)

That does look great.
The contrast of the black and white looks tuff.

I am going to have to strip mine down all the way like that one of these days.

Who did the cage? I don't think that it is going to certify with the front bars like they are. I might be wrong though.

A local small shop did the cage. It doesn't have to certify. Its not going to be that fast. Its my bracket car and the cage is mainly for chassis stiffness.

The front "strut" bars are not even checked. They will be fine. Looks good.

thanks, I think the por-15 is great. it goes on easy and is very shiny and its hard as a rock. The only thing I would do different is I would not have bought a quart but I would have bought the pack of 4oz. cans. This stuff goes a long ways and its hard to save what you got left plus smaller cans are easier to keep from getting contaminated. I think I could have done the whole thing plus the rear with 2 4oz. cans of it. I applied with a brush and it smooths out really good.

Looks good man. How long till you plan on being done?

I can appreciate where you're at. I just spent the entire day finishing up primer and I'm about to dish out a ton of cash but I'm almost done at least.

I hope to be done in 1-2 months, but not sure. I keep wanting to just through it back togather but I know I need to take my time and do it right. I am almost to the point where I need to order some more parts to continue. After I get to that point it will go much quicker because the time consuming parts will be over and it will just be bolting things up. I am sure tuning will take some time as well and then getting the susp. dialed in will take some time as well. Also any grimlins I might run into might kill some time as well.
