Default What Size of tire for A4 with 411 gears

What size of tire are you guys running with a 12 bolt with 411 gears with a A4 built in the 1/4 with 15x10 wheel I saw a racing cacualtor on here before that told the tire weight of the car. Anyone still have that link.

if y ou are trapping 130 mph (looking at your sig) i personally would drop down a gear to 3.73 or 3.89 if you had a 9" if you stuck with a 28" tire.

with all that gearing in the 4L60e that 4.11 gear is going to hurt you unless you go with a 29.5-30" tire IMO.

Tire size: a lot will depend on your trap speed and trap rpm's. What are you goals? etc, etc.

Calculators: numerous calculators in the sticky at the top of this section.

Stalling the car to 2500 and using a 3500 stall window switch set at 3000 and kicking off at 6600 shift points at 6700. You think I would be better off with 373

28x10.5 ET Drag if you shift around 6600-7000.

What are you shifting at? Did you log the runs? Losing traction when you hit 2nd? Was that due to poor track prep?

i go through at 124 mph with 4.11 gears on 28 inch tall drags at 6900 rpm, your gonna need taller tires or 3.90 gears or lower, if you run a lot faster.im running 99-100 mph in the 1/8,hope this helps!

If your going to spray the car then i would drop the gear down to 3.89 or 3.73s with a 26 inch tall tire. With a 4.11 you can run a 28 inch tire and it would be about the same.

I run a 370 also but i have yet to spray it. Mine will be 3.70s with a M/T DR 275/50/15. You might consider that option because if you can get the DR to hook as good as a full slick (i have) then you will run alot quicker with them.

1.45 60ft. NA and i think i can nail some 1.30s on the bottle with the same setup.

Did not log the tune this go around but when I hit the 1000 ft mark I was at 6000 rpm and was maxed out between the 1000ft mark and the 1/4 mile. track prep sucked too. I went back sat night with 275 60 15 drag radials still had a hard time hooking up off the line but 2nd was fine and hooked but once again still ran out of gear just pass the 1000ft mark. shifting out at 6600 rpm. So if I went to a 373 do you think I could still keep the 28s

So I was running a stock 10 bolt with 342 gears running a 10.36 crossing the line at 6400 rpms with a 26 inch tall 10.5x15 so if I run a 28 inch tall tire what gear do you guys recommend

IMO a 3.73 with a 28" tire would be between a 3.23-3.42 gear with the taller tire. I like to run as much gear as i can to milk the whole power band. I still think with a rev limiter of around 7000-7200 with a 3.73/26" tire you will get more from that setup but everyone is different on how far they are willing to push there cars.

I project that when i do spray mine in a few months i should be knocking on the 7K rpms at the traps with my 3.70/26" drag radial setup but if it goes higher i will throw the 28" DR's back on.
