Phil
Sorry to hear that about the motor. I thought I would get to see it run at the Shakedown next weekend.
As for the combo you want to do. It sounds like what mine is so keep your eye out for it. I did the 4.100 stroke for the main reason of it was what they had being built and a little longer rod wouldn't hurt. I should have it built in the next few weeks and on the dyno.

We tossed around a few different stroke combinations and we wanted to find a good combination of stroke vs gearing out back. With a converter and tranny package that sees less than 4% slippage out the back door our choices seem to be pretty clear. Shawn is setting up the motor to be low RPM torque monsters and maximize the tranny. We're hoping to see 1-2% slippage out the back door next year with an even tighter converter.

Always nice to start with a clean slate. I'm hoping this 408 sells myself just for that reason. It's a good piece with alot of good parts, but it's always better to be able to start from scratch with stuff that's all meant to work together
I'm sure, with a marcella sheet metal it will probably do what I want... but it's gonna have to be on kill all the time to do it.

You know Shawn gets under my skin sometimes. So we're talking and he is like.... "You know I really want a fresh slate to start with and the block is a good start. What do you think about a new set of canted valve heads". WTF kinda **** is that. Thats like smoking crack infront of a crack addict.
So now we're going with a ~455" RHS, Bryant CCW Billet Crank, GRP rods, JE Pistons with N/A Compression
, Jesel Rockers, PI/Mast Mozez heads, New Sheetmetal intake with 16 injectors from John M marcella and some tranny mods to lower the converter slippage.

With our tranny package, 8500 RPMs will net 210-212mph. The comparable 10% numbers works out to 194. Basically its a system that has to work together and every piece effects the next.
