This is the mag drive I am going to use. It will bolt onto the front of the cam with marman clamps and the fuel pump will bolt on the backside of the mag drive. Mag drive will point up and toward the driver side at a 30 degree angle.

Two questions,

What are the four black caps on the on the mag cap?

Why not put the ignition box on the fire wall or inside the car?

Vents

I am going to call MSD today but the instructions said in 2 different sections that they did not want the wires lengthened. Inside the car is the only other option, the front is crammed.

The only wires I have ever lengthen is the two yellow wires that go to the 8973 from the chip slot on the points box. Had no effect on operation. That brings up another question, are you going to run a 7730 or 8973 box with this setup?

Neither actually, MSD 8147. My BS3 has the chip that controls the 8147 points box for 2/3 step, timing retard, traction control and rev limiter.

I talked to MSD today and they said do not lengthen the wires, due to the amount of current that passes through the wires and the heat generated, its best to leave them at the current length.

One set of injectors going to be enough?
I would think you'd be close to the limit of even what the 500's can do.

Look on the bottom of the runner, 500s up top and 225s down bottom, 90# of fuel pressure

not sure if anyone has told you, but with the 44 MAG, you need to spin a min. of 250 rpm on the starter for it to fire. It needs a little more with a 8973 box on it but never tried it with BS3. If you have trouble starting on starter log start rpm and see what it is. Usually have to get a high speed starter to spin the MAG fast enough.

Don't take this the wrong way, but do you ever regret building a LSX and not buying a BBC, 481x, hemi, etc? Just looks like the LSX has been very expensive.

I get 250 with the 16 volt system with little problem. I've got a 2nd battery and wiring to make it 32 volts if needed.

Yep, they all are expensive, on this last build, I would have gotten a johnson or anderson 525 hemi instead of the LSx.

Great build once again Phil.
I love the LSX or the Hemi and have both. Going to put them in the same car running a "W" or ODR, one at a time to see the differance.
