It looks like that b/c how slow the ramp rate is on the AMS. I slowed down the ramps just to make sure it got down the track. I dont have the laptop but I was out of it for .6 or so and off it on the big end at 3.6-3.7. I'll take the data and run. That same tuneup on gas would have gone a 1.41 60'.

On an NGK plugs they have a cadmium plating. On a methanol combo or E85, you look for...
1) How far the heat mark is down the theads of the plugs, leaner will move the mark further down the threads, richer will move it back to the tip, the heat mark should be right around the 1st thread
2) How much cadmium plating is gone also will tell you if you need more or less fuel
3) What the strap looks like, if the strap is a soft gray it needs more timing, if the strap has a nice blue line right around the bend on the strap, its close to optimal timing, if the strap has greens and blues its got too much timing.
the heat mark on my 1st 3/4 hit was 50% between the tip and 1st threads
30% cadium burn
the strap was a soft grey
they all say it needs to be hotter. I am going to lean it out 3 numbers and see what that does to everything.

I know it feels good to be back in the seat again Phil!![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
Kevin had some trouble getting his old trans to hold power switching from gas to methanol. He told me that getting the weights adjusted right without having the intercooler, i/c piping, and all the associated stuff that went out with the swap to alky and being a lot lighter because of it took some getting used to. His car was doing that same thing where it would leave nice and then 100' out the front end would start coming up. He seems to have it dialed in now, he is running some outlaw 275 stuff at Piedmont and Dunn Benson in NC and went 4.79@160 something Saturday. You should come play with us. Another friend of mine will have an turbo 94mm alky car I'm gonna help with out fairly soon also.
4 7 9 on the ramp!!! wow lol that is slow as hell. Used to seeing them in the low 20's and higher depending on the surface. She looked really good pulling the power wheelie. I'm guessing that was Chris Evans in the right lane, you chugged right back up to him with a quickness

Yeah, it was evans in the right lane, I think he spun the tires hard. As far as the ramp rates, I have not seen many combos that will actually do 20psi+ per second until late into the run. Our 70 tuneup on the old motor, the highest actual ramp rate we saw was 24-26psi per second at the top of first gear.
I'm super happy with how fast it went 1st shot. I had an 8 hour drive to think about how fast it went, **** it probably could have almost gone 160 on a clean hit at 20psi when we run it out the back door. There is one realtively quick project I want to do in the next month, I would like to switch the intercooler piping over to 5" but we will see how time shakes out.
I dont know how Kevin's car is but my car without any ballast is 55.1% on the nose @ 2720-35 depending on fuel load.
It will be intesting to see if we can get the car to leave with 5.7-5.8 at the 3700, from all the data I've compiled, using the same ramp just increasing the average power under the first 60', it should go 1.19 60'.

I have only tried bother Kevin twice since he had the new set-up out as I know he is working on getting it together and that takes some quiet time on the lap top and AMS, hell I know I like my 5-10 minutes of time to look over logs and look at the tune. Funny seeing it on little 275's though, impressive as I think it's his 2nd or 3rd time on 275's. I would love to see your car on 275's in Outlaw 275 vs. 28's at Benson, but that is another 8 hour drive for you too if not more. I think he was at 2950 when he made that hit. Anyways this is your thread sorry. I get carried away dreaming about 6 second passes...in the 1/4

The car with that ramp rate had a two speed TH400, 1.48 first gear and 33x10.50's lol nothing like yours but it's really the only car I've ever seen the AMS screen on or that I was told I could see really
I don't like to stand over people's shoulders especially when the lap top is out. I was told if I spilled the cam specs of this OL275 car I would be bound and dropped off a bridge! JK! It is crazy how competitive this heads up racing has gotten though.

Apparently it wasn't as soft as planned. Comparing it to my 4.70 hit, drive shaftspeed was faster by 2mph at every interval from 2-5 tenths, 3-4mph faster from 6-8 tenths driveshaft speed was growing as lifted the front tires, lifted at .86 and went a 1.29 60' The 4.70 hit was a 1.23 60'.

I've got a spreadsheet that will calcualte a few things. I worded it wrong but esseintially
at .10 it was same MPH
.20 +1
.30 +1
.40 +2
.50 +3
.60 +4
.70 +4
.80 +5
I am going to go back and lay my 1.23 1.25 and run on friday. It might not need as much to go into the teens as I orginally expected.

If you can get the combo to make it, an agressive tuneup is 9/14 on the 1st 2 stages. Problem is most combos wont make boost that fast. The only combo that I've seen that will make that kind of boost that fast is a 427 with twin 76s. Pretty much most of the power curves will be very very similar, just the start boost will be different depending on how much power the base motor makes.
Pulls in, lights first light, within 2.5 seconds if not less he has bumped foward into the 2nd light with 9psi of boost.
From what I am told it will make 20psi within the first 120' of the track.
