From what I am told it will make 20psi within the first 120' of the track.

Yeah a 555 with a BBC and 4788s can definitely do it. If the chassis is setup right, most cars can take a 2-2.5psi swing over the first 2 tenths after wheel speed is generated.

Why use 4788s? The new GT55's are the cat's meow from what I've read.

My dad is taking the trans and converter to Chris Esterly of ATI so he can R & R both components to ensure they are perfect. The T/C slip numbers were quite interesting compared to the gas numbers. Essentially the same wheel speed but at 350 lower RPMs due to lower slip.

Dunno, it's a car that hangs around the local track sometimes.

It's been put together for a while now.

Phil so was the slip more or less than before?

Slip was less and the converter was tightening up faster.

i guess thats part of why it pulled the wheels ~100' out? is it going to be loosened up a small bit to to make up for the different "profile" the alky created?

**** no, We have always tightened up converters and gotten better results. Seems like everytime we tighten them up, we struggle for a bit getting them on the chip but after that its all gravy.

It gets on the chip almost like a lightswitch now. At this point I am going to leave it alone and see what happens.

Finally got around to get a pushbar setup done. Used some stuff I had around the shop and got some few things to complete it. Here is what I got....

Had some 1/4" plate for the base, 1" .125 wall square tubing and some 7/8" .090 for a gusset. Tube is 3/4 .125

Got my ATI Superglide back with a few upgrades I was not expecting. Added a pump to help cool the fluid down between rounds and makes changing fluid in the entire system a breeze. It not takes 5 minutes to change 11 quarts out and completely flush the system with new fluid.

If you put it on the bumper that push bar deal looks like it would turn into an asphalt plow.

Looks like he would have to be off of all 4 to hit it judging by the height of it.

With the bottom tube configured like it is, it would be a good spot for single wheel if things got high.

I like the push bar set up. How much flex is in it while in use?

I really like the push bar, its the simplest design I have seen yet. How does it handle up and down movement? I really want one for my car since going to turbo I cant use my old tow hook under the car.

Push bar is much better than using a strap, we had one for half of last season and all this season. We welded out mount on the parachut bracket also, seems to work really well.
