I doubt it. We did a couple transbrake tests at 3700rpms and made 5.8 and 9psi. Went to the track and had trouble staging, brakes wouldn't hold(think they need to be bleed again) so we didn't leave with not near as much as before.

Yes I agree. I shouldn't of broke so fast. The ones I have seen will twist bout 1-1 1/2 splines then stay there for a good time before they give up or twist anymore. To check how many splines a shaft is twisted, just lay a straight edge on untwisted splines and count splines to the one that you are aligned on. For the ones wondering what I'm talking about.

Is that a bend before the splines, or just an illusion?

Have you talked to the mfg of the shaft yet? I wonder if it was never heat treated? I would assume they would want it back for testing. Good luck with it.

The tranny should be back today. The mfg fixed it under warranty and they want me to do some measurements on the block to ensure there was no errors in the machine work process. Mainly they want to ensure the bellhousing is aligned correctly with the crank. They state they have never seen a shaft fail like mine and the last shaft failure was over 4 years ago.

What a pita that would be if it is the block... hopefully not for your sanity's sake.
i think a lot of people here would collectively break down after watching this build.

The only thing that was questionable was the crank hub adapter, it had just alittle too much play. Got a new one machined/converter matched and its a precision fit now.

Phil, if there was an award for resiliency...you win. Was this shaft in there on your previous set up? Just wonder whats different.

I've seen some shafts twist a little bit and then be fine for years, never breaking. That's racing... stuff breaks. Even brand new stuff. You better be resilient or you won't last long LOL

Rumor has it Phil sold the Stang to Nasa and they turned it into a rover. It's been renamed to "Curiosity" and is sitting on Mars....
