What about a 555 BBC with twin 4788's on alky? It is incredible how fast this car spools.
Pulls in, lights first light, within 2.5 seconds if not less he has bumped foward into the 2nd light with 9psi of boost.
From what I am told it will make 20psi within the first 120' of the track.

Yeah a 555 with a BBC and 4788s can definitely do it. If the chassis is setup right, most cars can take a 2-2.5psi swing over the first 2 tenths after wheel speed is generated.

My dad is taking the trans and converter to Chris Esterly of ATI so he can R & R both components to ensure they are perfect. The T/C slip numbers were quite interesting compared to the gas numbers. Essentially the same wheel speed but at 350 lower RPMs due to lower slip.

It gets on the chip almost like a lightswitch now. At this point I am going to leave it alone and see what happens.

Finally got around to get a pushbar setup done. Used some stuff I had around the shop and got some few things to complete it. Here is what I got....
Had some 1/4" plate for the base, 1" .125 wall square tubing and some 7/8" .090 for a gusset. Tube is 3/4 .125
Got my ATI Superglide back with a few upgrades I was not expecting. Added a pump to help cool the fluid down between rounds and makes changing fluid in the entire system a breeze. It not takes 5 minutes to change 11 quarts out and completely flush the system with new fluid.

With the bottom tube configured like it is, it would be a good spot for single wheel if things got high.
I like the push bar set up. How much flex is in it while in use?
