Just got back from the track. We did not get any really useable data but here goes...
* Weight 2975 without driver full fluids
* no track prep - glued/tire dragged first round nothing after
* Switched to 5psi springs in the gates
* Ran 3psi of C02 on the gates for the launch and 5psi 1.5 seconds in
* Made 3 1/8 mile passes on low boost 10psi
* Made 3 1/4 mile drift passes - had to pedal 4 times to get it down the track
* Fastest pass was 9.4 @ 165, 10# of boost, 1.60 60',
* Fastest 1/8 mile was 6.2x @ 123 on 10# of boost, pedaling it also 2x before 1/8 mile
* Q16 stinks bad and needs to be richened up 6-7%
* I'm initally thinking we need to hit the tires harder and loosen up the front.
* Car went straight as an arrow liked to spin the tires everywhere

We've got a couple of things to address and than we'll head back out. The car had easy 8.50s @ 10# of boost. I've got some videos but they are not the best. I'll try and post the good sections of the runs.

Kept it off the wall, that's all that matters. Can't want to see it dialed in. Power seems to build really early, what's the cam specs phil and was it really rich on the dyno?

Cam was a 260/254 116lsa .700 lift. When you see the video it will all make sense...

That's a descent size cam and it made power so early, wonder what I am going to run in mine, looking to have a similar rpm range but I am most likely going 555-565 cid.

It'll be interesting to see how the power band looks when you turn the boost up. Peak power at 5,500 is with only 20 hp variation up to 7500 is awesome, talk about a flat curve.

Saw the video looks like it is leaving too soft, one thing my friend told me that runs in the drag radial class is that you have to hit the tire good and keep the power applied, they don't seem to work too good when you ramp the power in slow.

Either way it's gonna fly sooner or later, glad you had some fun

I agree and so did Madman. We're going to make a couple of changes to let the car leave harder, bring the boost in slower and add a 2nd set of rear brakes.

why the 2nd set of rear brakes? Did the car not want to stop?

I have seen that before on car,s but never really understood why.

It's tricky with the radials this much I know, I fought with it at a low power level last year and it was a pita.

i see that he doesnt have a digital7 msd box so he probabaly wants to control wheel speed and make it load the motor more and get the boost up faster...

i think some super stock guys put a second set of brakes on their cars with another line lock and put a timer on it and let it release so many seconds in so they can control wheel speed on bad tracks.... they do this because they arent allowed programmable boxes...

i'd say before too long he will have a digital box in the car... these small tire cars are just a pain in the *** when you dont have all the bells and whistles to control wheel speed/power all the way down the track...

2nd set of rear brakes will hold the rear tires firm to spool the turbo without spinning. Now the car will spin the rear tires before I get to the pre-stage beams.

No Kyle, you need longer legs so your midget *** body can actually push the brake pedal to the floor. You could equip your car with all the handicap hand controls and it would have solved that problem. Of course if your seat were any farther forward you'd be sitting next to your turbo.

We're moving again...
Ordered:
2nd set of Aerospace 4 piston calipers for rear, brackets, and pads
Proportioning Valve
Residual Valve
brake lines

Picked up:
Front headlight support, broke last pass at the track
Toggle switch to turn on the logger

Changed:
Added 3 stages to boost controller
Added a couple % of fuel to the VE
Added 1" of travel up front

Hopefully we can get the car finished tuesday or wednesday so we can make some passes again this friday. We will also try to scale the car and figure out where to add 200#.
