Gas bottle story...Engine wouldn't build fuel pressure as mechanical pumps are a pain in the *** to get primed. I have an open port for a vac connection in the manifold so I dribble some fuel in the intake and start cranking just like a alcohol car engine backfires because the timing isn't set right and the bottle catches on fire. Good news is there wasn't much fuel in the bottle. I dropped the bottle on the ground grabbed the fire extinguisher and put it out. No harm just a scary situtation.

Started working this morning @ 8, fought with the fuel pump, setup a timing pointer, timing was right just wouldn't start. Shawn calls says the distributor has to be 180 out because it should start. Move the distributor 180 and bitch fires right up and sounds ABSURD.

Awesome! That would make sense if it backfired through the intake.
I think we need a video with a good sound clip of that thing.

Looks like we've got an issue running the current ignition box, I ordered one and it should be here monday. Motor looks strong and sounds insanely healthy. Reminds me of a big inch nitrous motor when your blipping the throttle.

Everything is still packed up from the move, I'll try and get everything unpacked this weekend for videos.

I am pretty pumped to say the least, the motor sounds very encouraging but ****, with aluminum rods and 10.0:1 CR it should.
