Well I finally got back to the little 600ft track last night, fog was REALLY bad, lots of water in the air. It ran a best with the weather bad. I let a buddy drive it so I could watch the car. I put some M/T et street radials on the car.

best pass

60 ft 1.56

et 6.69@94 mph

keep in mind this track is 60ft short so it is .35 fast, I am knocking on the 10 second door.

Here is the chassis setup.

Front Hals on full loose
Rear Koni's full loose on compression, one full turn from loose on rebound

RR airbag empty

tires at 11.5 psi

Leaving at 2000 rpm flashing the converter. Car leaves nice, RF tire skipping, LF 6 inches up and carries it about 15 ft.

My question is, why do I have to run the tires so low? I see MOST guys on here run 16/18 psi in a 325/50.

Am I totally depending on the tire?

Your high raceweight is killing you. You need to reduce it by about 200-lbs. What are running for a rear sway bar?

There are three problems you listed, no air in the air bag, a
car that heavy shouldn't have to go as low as 11 psi, and if your pulling the left tire 6" and the right is on the ground that's a problem.

I am guessing you don't run an anti roll bar, but having an air bag empty is pointless especially if the front tires are 6"s different in hight.

Air the air bag up to 15-20 psi and keep adding psi until the car evens out. Then I would try adding more air to the tires.

You really need an anti roll bar on it though.

To answer your question I would say it unloads the right rear tire because of the twist in the chassis and you keep dropping the pressure trying to get it to hook, I don't think it is the tire pressure I think you need to get the load over each rear tire more even.

So air up the air bag till it leaves dead even in the front or get an anti roll bar and run it and then add preload as needed.

Here is a photo of my old pile with 1/4 turn of preload on the anti roll bar leaving on a 250 shot right off the transbrake, you can see it's dead even.

I am gonna try different things this Sunday, I cat see both front tires at the same time so I am guessing.

It has the factory rear swaybar in place.

The car does not "heel over" to the right. if it does it is VERY slight.

With air in the bad it tire shakes, or hops, all I know it is violent.

THe front end extends nicely at the track, rear seperates about 4 inches when it leaves.

Hey did you see my post in your hooking in the street thread? It looked like you said that the rear shocks were set on loose on both compression and rebound...Tighten the rear shocks on compression to drive your tires into the track...Your problem sounds just like my issues last year...then you can add air to the tires...Right now it looks like the lower tire pressure is trying to compensate for the soft shock settings...The stock style rear bar doesn't help either...I'm ditching my stock style Spohn for a Spohn drag bar to help set the preload correctly...
